Bradenton, Fla. - The Keiser Seahawks secured a 51-31 road victory over New College of Florida on Saturday afternoon, improving to 15-5 overall and 7-3 in conference play. The Seahawks built a 37-15 halftime lead and maintained it throughout the second half.
Satori Griffin and Avrie Schmidt led the way with 17 points apiece. Griffin was especially effective from beyond the arc, connecting on 5-of-8 from three-point range, including a perfect 3-for-3 performance in the second quarter to help the Seahawks establish their halftime cushion. Schmidt added two three-pointers and went a perfect 3-for-3 from the free-throw line, showing her versatility as a scorer.
Caidyn Cannon added 11 points and a game-high seven rebounds while contributing three steals on the defensive end. The Seahawks controlled the glass with 36 total rebounds, including 12 offensive boards that created valuable second-chance opportunities.
Emelia O'Gilvie contributed six points, 11 rebounds, and four assists while playing strong perimeter defense with four steals. Amalia Vamvakitis provided solid work off the bench with six rebounds and two steals in 14 minutes of action.
The Seahawks' defense was active throughout, forcing 16 turnovers and limiting New College's offensive opportunities.
