West Palm Beach, Fla. – The Seahawks suffered a 68-59 home defeat to Coastal Georgia on Wednesday evening at the SLC, dropping their conference record to 4-3 and overall mark to 13-5.

The Seahawks controlled the early stages and took a 29-25 advantage into halftime, but Coastal Georgia flipped the script in the third quarter. The Mariners exploded for 27 points while limiting Keiser to just 16, building a cushion that proved insurmountable despite the Seahawks' efforts in the fourth quarter.

Emelia O'Gilvie paced Keiser with 15 points on 7-of-14 shooting, adding seven rebounds and two assists in 26 minutes of action. Avrie Schmidt contributed a solid double-double performance with 14 points and seven rebounds while shooting a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line. Satori Griffin added 13 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and a block, providing valuable two-way production over 36 minutes. Aly Avrach chipped in 13 points with a pair of three-pointers.

For Coastal Georgia (14-6, 4-4), four players reached double figures, led by Abby Shepard (14 points), Taylor Blackshear (12 points, nine rebounds, five assists), Hadiya Kennerly (12 points), and Niya Moon (12 points, four steals).

The third quarter proved decisive. Coastal Georgia erupted for 27 points while holding Keiser to just 16, transforming a four-point halftime deficit into a seven-point advantage heading into the final period. The Mariners' balanced attack and defensive pressure created separation that Keiser couldn't overcome.

The Seahawks struggled from beyond the arc, converting just 4-of-22 three-point attempts (18.2%), while Coastal Georgia knocked down 11-of-27 from distance (40.7%). Both teams shot identically from the free-throw line at 64.7%. Keiser controlled the paint with 34 points compared to Coastal Georgia's 16, but turnovers proved costly. The Seahawks committed 21 turnovers to the Mariners' 11, resulting in a 13-9 advantage in points off turnovers for the visitors. Keiser held a slight rebounding edge at 45-42 and matched their opponents with three blocks and similar assist totals (13-17).

The Seahawks will look to bounce back quickly as they hit the road for their next contest. Keiser travels to Miami Gardens on Saturday, January 24 to face St. Thomas at 2:00 PM in an important conference matchup.
