Records: No. 1 Keiser (7-1-0), No. 9 SCAD Savannah (4-3-1)
Location: Arrigo-Vecellio Field, West Palm Beach, Fla.

The top-ranked Keiser women's soccer team earned a decisive 3-0 victory over No. 9 SCAD Savannah on Sunday afternoon at Arrigo-Vecellio Field. The contest was called in the 73rd minute due to lightning in the area, securing the Seahawks' seventh win of the season. Keiser wasted little time asserting control, breaking through in the 11th minute when Haley Miller netted her first goal of the season off assists from Blanca Bächi and Georgia Little. The Seahawks doubled their advantage in the 34th minute as Bächi continued her strong form, scoring her sixth goal of the year with Little again providing the assist. Coming out of halftime, Keiser kept up the pressure. In the 52nd minute, Lauren Riley connected on a corner from Steingerður Snorradóttir to make it 3-0, marking Riley's fourth tally of the season.

The Seahawks will be back on the road on Wednesday when they travel to play (rv) Southeastern on September 24. Kickoff from the SEU Soccer Field in Lakeland, Fla. is set for 7:00 p.m.

Key_Moments_2023
  • Miller's first collegiate goal was a beauty, as she half-volleyed a shot from the edge of the box that hit the top netting to put Keiser in front
  • In the 34th minute, Bächi controlled a long cross from Little, flicking it around two defenders before firing a shot from the top of the box into the bottom right corner of the net
  • On the third consecutive corner kick early in the second, Snorradóttir found Riley at the back post, who guided it into the back of the net
  • With 72:10 showing on the clock, the head referee signaled the teams to head to the lockers as the game entered a lightning delay that would not subside
