BRADENTON, Fla. – Keiser volleyball team dropped a 3–1 decision (24–26, 15–25, 25–22, 16–25) to New College of Florida on Wednesday night in Sun Conference play. The Seahawks (6–6, 2–2 SUN) battled to the wire in the opening frame, trading points through 11 ties before falling 26–24. After a tough second set, Keiser responded with a gritty third-set win,, before the Mighty Banyans of New College closed out the match in the fourth.
Middle blocker Aubree Valcourt and outside hitter Cece Worsham led the charge with 14 kills apiece, while Isabella Steffel chipped in nine kills on a .217 clip. Setter Mallory Dills paced the offense with 40 assists and added a solo block. Faith Marquis anchored the back row with 22 digs, and Makenzi Bennett added 14 digs and seven kills.
The Seahawks tallied 77 digs as a team and forced several lead changes in sets three and four to keep the Bobcats within reach. Keiser also registered three service aces, including two in the fourth set, to apply pressure late. Despite out-hitting New College in the third frame (.306 to .263), Keiser couldn't overcome an 11-ace performance from the New College.
With the loss, Keiser sits at .500 on the season and will return home this weekend for a conference matchup.
