The Seahawks continued their relentless attack in the second half with Riley pushing the margin to 4-0 before Zoe Edwards and Nynka Rucker each scored the first goals of their respective careers to wrap up the win. Keiser outshot Barry 23-1 in the game as they put on another dominant performance at home.

Keiser will make their annual trip to Orange Beach, Ala. for the Orange Beach Classic next week where they will take on two top-10 teams. The opening match of the week will be against No. 5 William Carey at 5:00 p.m. CT. on Thursday, September 4.

How it Happened
  • Keiser began the game with a composed look, holding the ball on the offensive side of the field before Maria Vilhena's first chance barely missed wide in the ninth minute
  • On the ensuing goal kick, Blanca Bächi poked the ball away from a defender who made a misplay on the pass allowing Bächi to slot home her third goal of the season
  • The Seahawks continued to fire shots towards net, totaling five in the first 15 minutes
  • In the 18th minute, Bächi worked the ball down the wing before sending a cross to Lauren Riley, who played it to Vilhena, who played it to Emilia Nilsson, who blasted a shot by the keeper
  • With 15 minutes to play in the half, Georgia Little sent a ball into the box, where Vilhena stopped it dead on her foot before turning and firing in her first goal of the season
  • The final chance of the half came with less than a minute left as Karine Ørud set up a free kick just outside of the box. Ørud sent a laser to the back post, but it bounced off the crossbar and away before the halftime whistle
  • Irene Lores nearly scored early in the second half after a corner kick found her on the back post, but the shot would be saved
  • In the 54th minute, Bächi sent a long pass out wide to Riley who did the rest, beating her defender before sending a shot by the keeper to make it 4-0
  • Zoe Edwards just missed scoring in the 73rd minute as her shot deflected off the crossbar
  • She would get another chance in the 77th minute when Nynka Rucker was fouled in the box resulting in a penalty kick. Rucker stepped forward and sank the shot to make it 5-0
  • Minutes later, Sofia Pietra nearly made it on "SportsCenter Top Plays" with a perfect flick over her defender, but her shot bounced down off the crossbar and grazed the line before bouncing away
  • In the 88th minute, Rucker got on the board as the ball found her at the back post and she fired in the first goal of her career

Game Notes
  • Keiser begins the year with a 2-0 record for the eighth consecutive season

  • Elsa Andreason, Bächi, Little, Nilsson, Riley, and Valeria Schiavo all tallied one assist in the contest
  • Mio Tanaka earned her second win of the season while barely seeing any action. Madison Priebe replaced her at halftime but saw much of the same
