Keiser flag football continued to add to the win column with a 54-6 victory at Life (Ga.) on Tuesday. The win improved Keiser to 8-0 on the year (3-0 SUN).
The Seahawks dominated the contest, out-gaining the Running Eagles, 332-194, in total yards.
Haylie Young, this week's Sun Conference Offensive Player of the Week, completed 22-of-26 passes for 209 yards and four touchdowns. Eleven different Seahawks caught a pass in the contest, including
Ashlea Klam, who record four catches for a team-high 60 yards and one touchdown.
Kennedy Foster corralled two scores, grabbing five passes for 35 yards.
Janasia Wilson (50 yards) and Chloe Girffin (44 yards) each caught five passes as well.
Defensively, the Seahawks tallied two interceptions, including a pix six by
Adrianna Cavalotti. Foster led all Seahawks with five flag pulls
With the win, Keiser improved to 2-0 all-time versus the Running Eagles, outscoring them, 120-6.
Keiser 20, Life (Ga.) 6
- The Seahawks got on the board first with a 10-yard touchdown pass from Haylie Young to Brenna Ramirez (7:38)
- With the missed extra-point attempt, Keiser led, 6-0
- Three plays later, Adrianna Cavalotti gave Keiser a two-score lead with a three-yard interception return for a touchdown
- The defensive score gave the Seahawks a 13-0 lead with 6;21 left in the first
- With 2:03 on the game clock, Janasia Wilson connected with Kennedy Foster for five-yards and the score
- The good extra-point attempt pushed KU's lead to 20-0
- The Running Eagles snapped the Seahawk's streak of 15 consecutive quarters without a score after Cheyenne Brooks threw a 65-yard touchdown pass to Altierra Gooch with 36 seconds remaining in the quarter
Keiser 34, Life (Ga.) 6
- Young registered her second touchdown pass of the game with a one-yard strike to Sophia Caprio with 8:40 remaining in the first half
- A successful two-point conversion pushed Keiser's lead to 28-6
- On the ensuing drive, Life drove down to the Keiser one-yard line but on fourth-and-one, Emma Wagenman stopped the Running Eagles short of the goal line, giving the ball back to the Seahawks with 1:40 left in the half
- Young completed eight straight passes with under two minutes in the half, including a six-yard TD pass to Foster
- Keiser went into halftime up, 34-6
Keiser 42, Life (Ga.) 6
- Young threw her fourth touchdown pass of the game with a 26-yard completion to Ashlea Klam
- Another successful two-point conversion gave the Seahawks a 42-6 lead with 6:27 on the game clock
Keiser 54, Life (Ga.) 6
- Wilson recorded her second touchdown pass of the game with a 32-yard touchdown pass to Cavalotti at the 8:33 mark
- Valentina Fanetti connected with Dakota Moberg for the final score of the day - seven-yard pass (3:07)
The Seahawks will stay in the Peach State to take on the Thomas (Ga.) Night Hawks on Wednesday, March 19. Game time for Thomasville, Georgia, is set for 4:00 PM.
