Cerasuolo Nabs Career-High Seven Assists as Seahawks Crush Patriots 22-10

No. 1 Keiser men's lacrosse dominated their first top-10 match-up of the season as they took down No. 3 University of the Cumberlands (Ky.), 22-10. Vincent Cerasuolo put on a show this evening in West Palm Beach, as he nabbed a career-high 11 points; Cerasuolo also notched a career-high seven assists. Ryan Rundle and AJ Badik combined for 10 goals. Keiser ended the Patriots undefeated season tonight, holding them to only 10 goals.

The Seahawks are back on the road as they match-up against (rv) SCAD Savannah. The opening face-off is set for 1:00 PM in Hardeeville, SC at SCAD Athletics Complex.

First Quarter
Keiser 6, UC 3 
  • To start his historical night, Cerasuolo found Braeden Niemy to take the early led against UC
  • Ryan Rundle found the back of the net for the first time of the night with 11:38 on the clock 
  • Thirty seconds later UC had a quick answer as Johnathon Vanover had an unassisted goal to make it 2-1 
  • After a few exchanged possessions, Kegan Hufford got on the board with a goal of his own 
  • Cerasuolo found Rundle at 5:43 to push the Seahawks lead to three
  • Vanover and Maalek Wilson brought the contest within one with a little over four minutes to go 
  • Before the end of the quarter, Badik and Cerasuolo brought back KU's lead to three 

Second Quarter
Keiser 12 , UC 7
  • The Patriots opened the second quarter with a goal from Will Rogers at 14:25
  • The Seahawks went on a three goal run as Badik and Hufford brought the lead to five 
  • At 8:26, Wilson found Rogers to bring the Patriots within four 
  • Cerasuolo collected his second assist of the night off a look to Rundle twenty-three seconds later  
  • Before the half, Cerasuolo and UC's Wilson exchanged goals as Keiser kept their five goal lead
  • Lucas Green had four saves going into the half 

Third Quarter
Keiser 16, UC 9 
  • Nick Kava and Vanover scored back to back goals to open the half with 12:04 remaining in the quarter 
  • The Seahawks held the Patriots scoreless the rest of the quarter 
  • Within a minute from each other, both Badik and Barnshaw scored solo-goals 
  • Green picked up two saves as Keiser defense shut down UC
  • Niemy scored his final two goals before the quarter came to a close extending Keiser's lead to seven 

Fourth Quarter
Keiser 22, UC 10
  • Keiser opened the scoring in the final quarter of play, as Rundle and Cerasuolo continued to dominate on the offensive end 
  • Four of Cerasuolo's eleven points came in the fourth quarter, as he tallied two goals and two assists
  • 6:58 is where Matt Sheehy found the back of the net for his first goal of the season 
  • The Patriots ended the Seahawks run at 4:31, with their lone goal of the quarter from Rogers 
  • With time winding down, Ryan Stowell found Badik for his fifth and final goal of the game

  • Keiser improves to 6-0 in the regular season 
  • The Seahawks are now 3-0 in conference play 
  • Vincent Cerasuolo tallied two career highs in points (11) and assists (7)
  • His two career highs both tie for the second-highest in Keiser's record books
