In one of their most impressive defensive showings of the season, Keiser men's basketball was dominant against Warner, defeating the Royals 89-57 on Wednesday night in Lake Wales, Fla. The Seahawks held the Royals to their lowest scoring total of the season, allowing just 57 points. The new low for Warner was 10 points below their previous low of 67 points all the way back in November. Malik Kabia led the offensive effort for Keiser with 16 points, including 14 points in a six-minute span. Tyreon Payne finished with 15 points on the night and a team-high five assists. Vincent Miszkiewicz continues to bring down double-doubles, registering 14 points and 16 rebounds on the evening.

Keiser returns home on Saturday for a Sun Conference matchup with a dangerous Southeastern opponent. Tipoff from the Student Life Center in West Palm Beach, Fla. is set for 4:00 p.m.

A late alley-oop from Calvin Sirmans to Jackson Kennedy in the first half had the Keiser momentum rolling into the second, where they would quickly extend their lead and make the game out of reach.

First Half
Keiser 29, Warner 17
  • Keiser led the game 6-4 after five minutes with both squads playing strong defense early in the contest
  • Following a Royals three with 13 minutes on the clock, Keiser scored 15 straight to open a 21-7 lead with under eight minutes still to play
  • Warner would cut into the lead with an 8-4 run as the clock dipped below four minutes to play
  • After free throws from both sides, Sirmans lofted an alley-oop to Jackson Kennedy who slammed it home to give KU a 29-17 lead at the break


Second Half
Keiser 82, Warner 67
  • Vincent Miszkiewicz and Cameron Stitt combined for 11 points to open the second half as Keiser extended their lead to 16 points four minutes into the half
  • The offense began to flow for both sides all of a sudden with a combined 34 points scored over the next six minutes and Keiser now leading by 24
  • Malik Kabia would enter the contest and take over down the stretch with 14 points over 5 minutes and 12 seconds, including a few thunderous slams to put KU ahead 83-50
  • Keiser would cruise the rest of the way, taking the 89-57 win
