Women's Basketball Ends Regular Season with Win Over Coastal Georgia on Senior Day, 67-59

Keiser secured a 67-59 victory over Coastal Georgia on Senior Day at the Student Life Center this afternoon. Prior to the game, Head Coach Pam Oswald honored the five members of the senior class. The Seahawks capitalized on key turnovers, converting them into 22 points, while also dominating at the free-throw line, shooting 75% compared to Coastal Georgia's 37.5%. Despite a competitive first three quarters, Keiser's defense tightened in the fourth, holding Coastal Georgia to just 17.6% shooting to seal the win.

Next, the Seahawks will host the Ave Maria Gyrenes in the Sun Conference Quarterfinals on Tuesday, February 24th, with tip-off set for 5:30 PM.

  • Coastal Georgia went on a nine-point run, taking the early lead from the Seahawks with 4:47 remaining on the game clock
  • Elliana Schaefer scored the first seven points for Keiser, cutting the lead to six
  • Avrie Schmidt hit a three-pointer for the Seahawks, trailing by one after two free throws from Elliana Schaefer
Second Quarter

  • Keiser went on an 11-point tear, including six consecutive points from Elise Ellison
  • A steal by Elliana Schaefer led to her hitting her first three-pointer of the afternoon with 5:51 left on the game clock, bringing the lead to 26-20
  • The Seahawks' lead grew to nine with Schaefer's second three-pointer of the quarter
  • Coastal Georgia answered with back-to-back three-pointers, narrowing the gap to just five with under two minutes remaining

  • With 6:57 remaining on the game clock, Mahiro Oyama scored her first points of the day with a deep three-pointer
  • Coastal Georgia responded with six straight points, cutting the deficit to three at 4:12
  • A six-point run from Keiser ended the game, capped by three consecutive free throws, with Jasmyn Hale hitting the final one with 0:07 left on the clock
