WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Amalia Vamvakitis delivered a career performance, pouring in a career-high 19 points to lead five Keiser players in double figures as the Seahawks (9-3) overwhelmed Trinity College (Fla.) 93-39 on Sunday afternoon at the SLC.
Vamvakitis was nearly unstoppable in the paint, connecting on 8-of-11 shooting while adding five rebounds, two assists, and a steal in 24 minutes. The junior forward did most of her damage in the second half, scoring 16 of her 19 points after intermission as the Seahawks pulled away decisively.
Satori Griffin matched Vamvakitis with 19 points on an efficient 7-of-11 shooting performance, including 2-of-4 from three-point range. The senior guard added five rebounds, four assists, and a block in a well-rounded effort.
Senior forward Caidyn Cannon overcame early foul trouble to contribute 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting, along with nine rebounds and four steals. Cannon was particularly effective in the opening quarter, scoring 12 points to help stake Keiser to an early double-digit lead.
Avrie Schmidt recorded an impressive double-double with 13 points and a game-high 13 rebounds, including eight offensive boards. Aly Avrach rounded out the double-digit scorers with 11 points, three steals, and six rebounds.
The most impressive individual performance came from sophomore point guard Emelia O'Gilvie, who orchestrated the offense with a game-high 10 assists against just one turnover while adding eight points. Her court vision was instrumental in Keiser's balanced attack, as the Seahawks tallied 30 assists on 35 made field goals.
The Seahawks' defensive pressure was relentless, forcing 29 Trinity turnovers while recording 18 steals and five blocks. Carolina de Domingo was a menace on defense with six steals and three blocks in just 19 minutes, while also contributing six rebounds and five assists.
Keiser seized control from the opening tip, racing out to a 19-5 lead after the first quarter. The lead grew to 42-17 at halftime before the Seahawks exploded for 30 third-quarter points while shooting 60% from the field. The margin reached as large as 54 points in the fourth quarter.
The Seahawks dominated the statistical categories, including a commanding 53-25 rebounding advantage and a 35-6 edge in bench scoring. The Seahawks shot 47.9% from the field and converted Trinity's mistakes into easy transition opportunities throughout the afternoon.
