Keiser men's basketball held off a late surge from Morningside to secure an 86-81 victory on Wednesday night at the Student Life Center in West Palm Beach, Fla. The win pushes the Seahawks to 9-1 on the season and maintains their perfect 7-0 home record.

In a back-and-forth first half that featured seven lead changes and three ties, Keiser took a narrow 48-47 advantage into the break. The Seahawks had a well-balanced scoring attack with Camerin James leading the way with 16 first-half points on 6-of-7 shooting, while Santiago Henriquez provided a crucial spark off the bench with 13 points including three three-pointers. The turning point came early in the second half when Keiser opened on a 6-0 run to extend its lead to 54-47 at the 17:42 mark. Cameron Baldwin ignited the spurt with a thunderous fast-break dunk following a steal, shifting momentum in the Seahawks' favor.

Keiser built its largest lead of the night at nine points (70-61) with 9:34 remaining in the game. Braylen Meredith capped the run with a jumper off an assist from Baldwin to give the Seahawks breathing room. Morningside refused to go away quietly as they clawed back to within one point at 81-80 with under a minute remaining. The Seahawks' defense and free-throw shooting sealed the victory down the stretch as Baldwin and Braylen Meredith combined to hit three critical free throws in the final 28 seconds to preserve the win. Baldwin was clutch throughout the second half, scoring all nine of his points after intermission while controlling the paint with two blocks and nine total rebounds.

Keiser concludes the Seahawks Christmas Classic on Thursday, December 18 against Olivet Nazarene. Tipoff from the Sudent Life Center in West Palm Beach, Fla. is set for 4:00 p.m.
