WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Keiser volleyball couldn't quite find its footing on Wednesday night, falling to Ave Maria, 3–1 (23–25, 19–25, 25–22, 20–25), in Sun Conference play at the Student Life Center.
Before the match, the Seahawks took a moment to recognize junior libero Faith Marquis for surpassing 1,000 career digs.
The Seahawks battled through inconsistency on both sides of the ball, hitting just .034 as a team with 44 kills and 38 errors across the four sets. Despite the offensive struggles, Keiser's front line and defense showed flashes of grit, finishing the night with 15 team blocks and 84 digs.
Marquis once again led the back row with a match-high 25 digs, building on her impressive career total. Cece Worsham paced the offense with 15 kills, hitting .239 while also adding 18 digs and three blocks. Makenzi Bennett tallied eight kills and 13 digs, and Aubree Valcourt contributed six kills along with a team-leading seven total blocks.
At the net, Isabella Steffel added six kills and seven blocks, while setter Mallory Dills handed out 39 assists to go with seven digs and three blocks.
After dropping the first two sets, the Seahawks showed resilience in the third, stringing together their best offensive run of the night to win 25–22. Keiser hit .125 in the frame, limiting errors and finding balance through the middle. However, the Gyrenes regained control in the fourth, using a late push to close out the match.
