For the third time this season, No. 21 Keiser men's basketball led wire-to-wire, defeating the Webber International Warriors at home in West Palm Beach, Fla., 88-61. The Seahawks had ten different scorers on the night and only three in double figures. Tyreon Payne led the offense with 14 points, just in front of Malik Kabia and Loghan Downie, who had 12 and 11 points, respectively. Vincent Miszkiewicz fell one point short of a double-double while still managing 14 rebounds and three blocks. Calvin Sirmans had another efficient game distributing the ball, racking up eight assists on the evening. The Keiser defense once again took center stage, holding Webber below their scoring average of 68 points.

The Seahawks will have a big game in front of them on Wednesday when they travel to Ave Maria to play the top-scoring team in the NAIA. Tipoff from the Tom Golisano Field House in Ave Maria, Fla. is set for 7:30 p.m.

With just over 14 minutes to play in the first half, Miszkiewicz pinned a layup by the Warriors to the backboard with the rebound going to Sirmans. Sirmans ran the floor before lobbing the ball to Kabia for the slam as Keiser rode the momentum to a 10-point lead.

First Half
Keiser 46, Webber 24
  • Loghan Downie started the game with a three from the right corner and closed out the early 13-7 run with another as the Seahawks jumped out in front by the 16-minute mark
  • Malik Kabia checked into the game around that time and took over, scoring eight points in the next five minutes as KU doubled the Webber score, 24-12
  • Keiser would push the lead to 20 with four minutes to go in the first with seven players getting involved in the final nine minutes of the half


Second Half
Keiser 88, Webber 61
  • The Seahawks started the second half with a 10-3 run as their lead was just short of 30, 56-27, with 16 minutes still to play
  • Webber would cut the Keiser lead down to 24, but an alley-oop from Cameron Stitt to Vincent Miszkiewicz would push it up to 30 with seven minutes to play
  • Jonathan Paul put a stamp on the game with a tip-in dunk with 1:54 remaining as the Seahawks close out another Sun Conference win

  • Keiser limited mistakes with just eight turnovers while taking advantage on the other end with 19 points off turnovers and 14 points on the fast break
