No. 2 Keiser women's soccer got off to a hot start on Wednesday afternoon in Miami Gardens with three goals in the first 35 minutes, all from Lauren Riley. The Seahawks continued to press forward in the second half with a goal from Alicia Rey and Julia Forslund's first goal of the season. Keiser's defense would have its strongest statistical showing of the season, only allowing two shots throughout the entirety of the contest.

The Seahawks return home on Saturday for a matchup against St. Thomas at Arrigo-Vecellio Field in West Palm Beach, Fla. Kickoff is set for noon.

How it Happened
  • Keiser nearly got on the board 90 seconds into the contest when a long shot from Lauren Riley was tipped away by the keeper
  • In the 12th minute, Julia Forslund split the defense with a long pass forward to give Riley a 1-on-1 chance with the keeper, whom she dribbled around and scored to make it 1-0
  • The Seahawks were at it again in the 25th minute when a cross from Lina Gröbner found Riley at the back post, whose karate kick shot went by the keeper to give KU a 2-0 lead
  • Ramona Kannady entered the game in the 32nd minute and immediately made an impact, running down the wing before finding Riley in the middle for the hat trick goal
  • Keiser would get the final chance of the half in a dangerous free kick position just outside of the box, but Steingerður Snorradóttir's shot would get saved before both teams would exit the field
  • Three minutes into the second half, the ball would bounce out to Georgia Little who whipped a cross to the back post where Alicia Rey would volley the shot into the net to make it 4-0
  • The final goal of the game came in the 62nd minute when a corner from Gröbner found the head of Julia Forslund who scored her first goal of the season to put KU ahead 5-0.
  • Keiser would continue to press for the remainder of the game, ending with a shot total of 28-2
