Women's Tennis Continues to Roll at the ITA Regional Championship

Keiser women's tennis remained unbeaten through two days at the ITA Regional Championships in Lakeland, Fla. The ladies finished 8-0 in singles play and 3-0 in doubles.

Singles went smoothly to begin the day with each of the Keiser players as only Eloise de Mooij needed the third set in her match. The Seahawks would then set up an all-Keiser semifinal as Violet Apisah, Destinee Martins, and Cato Tangkau all picked up wins. In doubles, Keiser made will look to make it an all-Seahawk final as all three pairings advanced to the semifinal. Apisah and Martins cruised to an 8-0 win in their match while de Mooij and Vanja Vidanovic earned an 8-6 win over Burgos and Fullerton from St. Thomas. They will now face Yeva Kononovych and Tangkau in the semifinal who defeated Puig Llompart and Flanagan from SCAD 8-4.

Coach's Corner
Head Coach Daniel Finn said, "Just happy with the day and the way the girls came through and performed when they needed to. Scores will tell you the stories, but clearly there were some ups and downs during the matches. I'm happy to see the girls be able to flip the switch mentally and really focus in the big points when they needed."

On tomorrow's matches seeing teammates face eachother, "Obviously having teammates play against each other in a tournament like this certainly makes my job easier, not having to coach it, but the biggest message will just be to have fun and compete at a high level against one another. They don't get many opportunities to play with something on the line and I'm confident that they will come out tomorrow and bring the best out of each other when they play."
