Men's Lacrosse Falls in AAC Championship Game to No. 1 Reinhardt

Keiser men's lacrosse was defeated today in the AAC title game. The Seahawks battled with the top ranked Eagles, but were unable to keep pace, falling 17-7. KU will now await its selection to the NAIA Invitational Tournament. For their performance this weekend, JP Prather, Kegan Hufford, and Ryan Rundle were named to the AAC All-Tournament team. 

First Quarter
Keiser 2, RU 3
  • The Eagles got on the board first with a goal three minutes into the game.
  • RU got another goal three minutes later. 
  • With 6:40 on the board, Ryan Rundle converted a man-up opportunity to give Keiser its first goal.
  • JP Prather capitalized on another man-up opportunity later in the quarter, with a Kegan Hufford assist. 
  • Reinhardt got the last goal of the quarter with 49 seconds left on the clock.
Second Quarter
Keiser 4, RU 9
  • Reinhardt scored the first goal of the quarter with 12:42 on the board.
  • Ryan Rundle scored two goals in a 30 second span to tie the game.
  • Unfortunately for Keiser, the Seahawk offense slowed from there and the Eagles closed out the half on a 5-0 scoring run. 
Third Quarter
Keiser 6, RU 12
  • The Eagles got the first goal of the half at the 12:48 mark. 
  • Six minutes later, Braeden Niemy scored with a Badik assist. 
  • Kegan Hufford scored in a man-up situation forty seconds later, with another assist from Badik. 
  • RU added two more goals in the final three minutes of the quarter.
Fourth Quarter
Keiser 7, RU 17
  • The Eagles tacked on three more goals in the first seven minutes of the quarter. 
  • The Seahawks continued to fight and broke the scoring run with a goal from Kegan Hufford at the 6:50 mark, but the Eagles would close out the game with two goals in the final five minutes.
KU Highlights
  • Keiser outshot RU 50-36. The Seahawks have outshot their opponent in 27 consecutive games. 
  • KU caused seven Eagle turnovers.  
  • Chris Rayburn went 16-27 on face-offs.
  • The Seahawks went 10-14 on clears. 
  • Keiser picked up 31 groundballs. 
  • James Boyer made seven saves.
  • Keiser went 4-10 on extra man opportunities.
