For the second time in program history, the Keiser flag football team claimed the Sun Conference Tournament Championship with a 6-0 win over the Thomas Night Hawks on Saturday afternoon.
Winning their 11th straight game, the Seahawks improved to 7-0 at the KU Multi-Purpose Field as a four-yard pass from
Jazmin Rhoden to
Ashlea Klam scored the only points in the defensive battle. With the victory, Keiser improved to 4-2 all-time in the Sun Conference Tournament.
Rhoden finished the day, completing 18-of-31 passes for 156 yards and one touchdown. Klam had two catches for 18 yards and a score. Her receiving touchdown set the school's single-season record for TD catches with 21.
Brianna Hernandez-Silva led all Seahawks with five catches for 46 yards.
Adriana Rodriguez all grabbed five passes for 27 yards.
The Keiser defense pitched its seventh shutout of the season, blanking the Night Hawks for the second time this season.
Sydney Woodman led the way with nine flag pulls (eight solo) and one interception. Her pick was the 10th of the season for the Second-Team All-SUN selection, adding to her school record for interceptions in a season. Woodman's interception gave Keiser its 38th of the year - most in program history.
Emma Wagenman tallied two sacks in the contest, tying to the school record for sacks in a season with 17.0 (
Reigan Pellegrino in 2022).

- The Keiser defense held the Night Hawks to just 16 yards on their first drive of the game, forcing TU to punt the ball away with 8:50 left in the first.
- The Seahawks drove down to the TU 17-yard line however, a sack by Kaitlyn Herb and an interception of a Jazmin Rhoden pass by Kiera Knight gave the ball back to the Night Hawks with 1:35 on the game clock.

- Om the first play of the second quarter, linebacker Sydney Woodman recorded her 10th interception of the season, picking off a pass by Alexa Wilson and returning it to the Thomas 13-yard line.
- The Seahawks took advantage of the Woodman pick, turning it into six as Rhoden connected with Ashlea Klam for a four-yard touchdown pass.
- The missed extra point made it 6-0 with 9:03 left in the half.
- The receiving touchdown set the school record for TD catches in a season as it was Klam's 21st of the year.
- On the final drive of the half, TU took the ball down to the Keiser two-yard line with 14 second left in the second.
- On fourth-and-goal from the two, Emma Wagenman sacked Wilson for a four-yard loss as Keiser regained possession of the ball (turnover on downs).

- Both defenses continued to set the tone as Keiser produced just 58 yards of total offense and held the Night Hawks to negative four.

- After each team stalled on their first drives of the quarter, Thomas go the ball from their own 14-yard line with 1:56 left in the game.
- The Night Hawks used eight plays to take the ball down to the KU 12-yard line with less than 30 seconds left to play.
- On 4th-and-goal from the 12, an incomplete pass from Wilson to Nakerra Brown gave the ball back to the Seahawks with 22 seconds left in the game.
Keiser will travel to Atlanta, Georgia, to take part in the NAIA Postseason Tournament May 7-10.
