Holding the Warriors to just 26.6 percent shooting from the floor and out-rebounding Webber Int'l, 54-36, the Keiser women's basketball team completed the season sweep of WIU with a 73-49 victory at Sabbagh Athletic Center on Saturday afternoon. It was the eighth game this season Keiser registered 50-or-more rebounds with Saturday's 54 tying for the fifth-highest season total (54 vs. Ave Maria - 1/13/24).
Elliana Schaefer led the contest with her second 20-point outing of the season, scoring 21 points on 6-of-15 shooting. The native of Castalia, Ohio, also recorded a team-high five assists versus the Warriors.
Mimmi Hahne grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds and scored 10 points for the first double-double of her Keiser career. The Seahawks also had
Kyra Long (15) and
Elise Ellison (10) reach double-figures in scoring on the day.
A 10-0 run which started at the end of the first quarter and extended to the 6:45 mark of the second quarter gave the Seahawks a 15-point lead as the Seahawks never looked back.
Keiser 15, Webber Int'l 8
- After the Warriors took a 4-2 lead (6:40), the Seahawks used a 6-0 run to take a four-point lead with 1:56 left in the first.
- Keiser out-scored WIU, 5-2, to push the lead to 13-6 (1:09).
- A jumper by Mimmi Hahne with 35 second on the game clock gave the Seahawks a 15-8 lead after one.
Keiser 30, Webber Int'l 20
- The Seahawks extended their run from the first quarter to 10, following a layup by Kyra Long (23-8 with 6:45 left in the half).
- Hahne gave Keiser a 30-13 edge with a put back layup with 3:17 on the game clock.
- The Warriors used a 7-0 run to close out the half as Keiser enter the break up by 10.
Keiser 48, Webber Int'l 37
- Taylor Jones posted her first bucket of the game with 8:10 left in the third as Keiser maintained a 10-point lead, 34-24.
- Elise Ellison kept the Keiser lead at 10 with a made jumper (39-29 with 5:06 on the clock).
- A 3-point by Julia Fitzwater extended Keiser's lead to 42-31 with 3:29 remaining in the third.
- Elliana Schaefer pushed the Seahawk run to 5-0 with a pair of made free throws (44-31).

- A jumper by Long scored Keiser's 50th point as the Seahawks led by 13 (50-37 - 9:47).
- A 3-pointer by Schaefer pushed Keiser's lead to 14, 55-41, with 7:20 left in the game.
- A three-point play by Jones with 5:40 left ot play gave Keiser a 20-point lead (61-41).
