The Keiser women's basketball team continued to find success at home, improving to 11-2 at the Student Life Center this season following a 62-46 win over Coastal Georgia on Wednesday evening. Wednesday night was also the team's Play4Kay Game - and event to raise money for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund to help find a cure for breast cancer. Coach Yow was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987. She passed away in 2009, after a 22-year, on-again, off-again battle with the disease. Coach Yow fought that battle in the public arena. Her hope was to inspire others to make a difference in a fight that impacts each and every one of us.
Keiser was led by
Taylor Jones, who scored 22 points and had 11 rebounds for her second double-double of the season.
Elliana Schaefer recorded a game-high nine assists on the night, marking a new career high for the native of Castalia, Ohio.

Keiser used a 14-2 run towards the end of the second quarter, giving the Seahawks a 16-point lead with just over a minute to go in the half. During that run, which lasted 3:52, Keiser shot 6-of-8 from the floor and was 2-of-2 from the free-throw line.
Keiser 14, Coastal Georgia 12
- Trailing 5-4, Keiser used a 6-0 run to take a 10-5 lead following a made jumper by Taylor Jones (5:41).
- The Mariners scored four straight to pull within one, 10-9, with 1:26 left in the quarter.
- A 3-pointer by CCGA's Iesha Rhoden tied the game at 12-12 with 53 seconds on the game clock.
- Jones hit the final bucket of the quarter (0:40) as Keiser led, 14-12.
Keiser 38, Coastal Georgia 24
- D'Auzhanay Harden tied the game, 14-14, with made layup at the 9:51 mark.
- A 4-0 run by the Seahawks pushed their lead to 18-14 with 8:22 left in the half.
- Jones made a pair of free throws to give Keiser a 24-18 lead (5:20).
- KU went on an 8-0 run as Jones gave the Seahawks a 32-20 lead with a layup at the 2:30 mark.
- The Seahawks extended their run to 14-2, leading the Mariners 38-22 with a little over a minute left in the first half.
Keiser 53, Coastal Georgia 34
- Keiser opened the third with a 9-2 run as the Seahawks held a 47-26 lead with 4:18 on the game clock.
- The Mariners responded with an 8-0 run as Rhoden scored her sixth point of the night on a layup (1:48).
- A pair of made free throws by Elliana Schaefer capped off a 6-0 run for the Seahawks as they led 53-34 with 10 minutes left to play.
Keiser 62, Coastal Georgia 46
- The Seahawks scored six straight points to take a 59-36 lead (6:37).
- Coastal out-scored Keiser 10-3 to close out the game.

- Wednesday night was Keiser's Play4Kay Game - The Play4Kay game is to raise money for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund to help find a cure for breast cancer.
- With the win, Keiser moves to 15-10 on the season (7-4 SUN).
