The No. 1-ranked Keiser football team (8-0, 5-0 SUN) returned home for the first time in over a month and a half to produce its largest offensive output of the 2024 season, defeating the Florida Memorial Lions (5-3-1, 4-2 SUN), 51-16, on Saturday evening.
 
Gaining 575 yards of total offense (a season-high and third-most in school history), including a season-best 292 yards on the ground, the Seahawks remained unbeaten on the season with the win on Saturday.
 
Andrew Burnette led all Seahawks with 114 yards on 16 carries with three rushing touchdowns. The native of Jensen Beach, Florida, recorded his fifth 100-yard rushing game of the season and third straight. Jaden Miller also found the endzone, rushing for 96 yards on seven carries.
 
Quarterback Shea Spencer ended the night completing 15-of-20 passes for 270 yards and two touchdowns. The KU signal-caller connected on TD passes to D'Andre Golden (three yards) and Armani Norcius (56 yards). Maurico Porcha led all wide receivers with four catches for 91 yards.
 
The Seahawk defense held the Lion's offense which averaged 39.5 points per game to just 16 on Saturday. Keiser held FMU well below its season averages in passing and rushing as the Lions gained 150 yards on the ground (204.6 ypg) and 179 yards through the air (246.4 ypg).
 
The win extended the nation's longest winning streak to 19 games as Keiser moved to 18-0 all-time in Sun Conference action and 38-3 in conference play (SUN & MSC).

 
 

First Quarter
Keiser 14, Florida Memorial 3
  • Florida Memorial received the opening kickoff and used 12 plays to go 57 yards to set up the first score of the game
  • FMU's Oliver Robbins connected on a 24-yard field goal attempt to give the Lions a 3-0 lead with 9:54 on the game clock
  • Keiser didn't take long to respond, needing just two plays to take a 7-3 lead with 9:02 remaining in the first
  • The score came on an 11-yard rushing touchdown by Andrew Burnette - his first of three in the game
  • Burnette's TD was set up by a 49-yard pass from Shea Spencer to Maurico Porcha
  • After the Keiser defense forced a three-and-out on the Lion's next drive, they methodically drove down the field, going 99 yards on 13 plays in 6:26 to extend the lead 
  • Burnette made it a 14-3 game with a one-yard rushing touchdown at the 1:07 mark

Second Quarter
Keiser 24, Florida Memorial 3
  • Jaden Miller gave Keiser a 21-3 lead with a six-yard rushing touchdown (12:03)
  • The Miami native notched his fourth rushing touchdown of the season with the score
  • Keiser's defense held strong, holding the Lions to just 58 yards in the quarter
  • FMU had good field position following a Keiser punt, starting its drive from the KU 40-yard line (5:50)
  • The Lions got the ball down to the Keiser 20, setting up a 36-yard field goal attempt
  • The attempt was blocked by KU's Tai Lologo and recovered and returned by CJ Bradley to the Seahawk's 48-yard line with 1:49 left in the half
  • The Seahawks took advantage of the Lologo block as Nico Cavanillas made a 37-yard field goal to push the KU lead to 24-3 with 00:36 on the clock

Third Quarter
Keiser 41, Florida Memorial 3
  • Keiser opened the second half with a "big play" off the bat
  • Spencer hit Refeno Vangates for a 46-yard completion, giving KU a first-and-10 from the FMU 16-yard line
  • Four plays later, Cavanillas made his second field goal of the game with a 33-yard attempt. 27-3 (13:10)
  • Again, the Keiser defense held the Lions in check with another three-and-out on their first possession of the half
  • The Lions had good field position following a failed fake punt by Keiser with 10:24 on the game clock
  • The stop gave FMU the ball at the Keiser 35-yard line
  • A field goal attempt as a result of the turnover on downs, sailed wide right as Keiser remained on top, 27-3
  • Miller accounted for 63 of the team's 80 total yards on the team's next possession, including a 52 yard run
  • The ground game led to a three-yard touchdown pass from Spencer to D'Andre Golden with 5:17 remaining in the third
  • The TD pass and made extra point gave Keiser a 34-3 lead
  • The Seahawks weren't done as Burnette found the endzone for the third time on the night, scoring on a 58-yard run, 41-3

Fourth Quarter
Keiser 51, Florida Memorial 16
  • The Lions snapped Keiser's string of 41 straight points, scoring on a three-yard touchdown run by Walter Wilbon (13:13)
  • Keiser responded with a 56-yard touchdown pass from Spencer to Armani Norcius with 11:21 left in the game
  • Florida Memorial got the offense going on its next drive, going 61 yards on six plays down to the Keiser 14
  • However, an incomplete pass on fourth-and-three resulted in a turnover on downs, giving the Seahawks the ball back
  • The Seahawks drove 72 yards in a matter of 2:37 to set up Cavanillas for his third field goal of the game
  • The drive was highlighted by a 56-yard run by Beau Beard
  • The Cavanillas made field goal (31 yards) extended the Keiser lead to 51-10 with 5:10 remaining
  • Florida Memorial scored again, posting a seven-yard touchdown pass from David Buggs to Jalen Holly
  • The missed extra point made the score 51-16 with 2:11 on the game clock

  • Tonight's captains – Jude Guerrier, Hunter Hargrave, Tivon Sutton and Jaden Meizinger
  • The Seahawks wore light blue jerseys and white pants (first time this season)
  • This marks just the second home game this season, the first in nearly two months (Sept. 21)

  • The coin toss was won by Keiser, the Seahawks deferred to the second half
  • Keiser is now 5-0 when winning the toss
  • Tai Lologo blocked a field goal attempt by Florida Memorial in the second quarter – the second blocked field goal attempt by the Seahawks this season
  • Nico Cavanillas went a perfect 6-for-6 on PAT attempts
  • He also tied his career high for field goals, converting three versus the Lions
  • Evan Jackson recorded a season-high nine tackles in the win
  • The freshman also added a sack to his impressive resume
  • Andrew Burnette tied his season-high with three rushing touchdowns while rushing for over 100 yards for the third straight game (114)
  • Burnette ranks No. 10 in the nation, averaging 110.8 yards per game
  • Keiser totaled 575 yards, a season-high for the Seahawks (third-most in program history)
  • Keiser extends its nation's best winning streak to 19 games
  • The Seahawks improve to 18-0 all-time in Sun Conference action and 37-3 in conference play (SUN & MSC)
