No. 2 Keiser women's soccer got off to a hot start to their NAIA National Tournament run, taking down Tennessee Wesleyan 4-0 at home in West Palm Beach, Fla. Maria Vilhena put the Seahawks on the board early in the second round game, scoring from inside the box in the second minute. Always a threat from the corner, Georgia Little curled a cross into the box that eventually bounced into the net. Lauren Riley added a third goal for KU in the second half before Vilhena tacked on a second of her own to close out the scoring. The Bulldogs were averaging 3.63 goals per game coming into the contest but were held scoreless for the first time this season.

With the win, the Seahawks advance to the NAIA Final Site in Pensacola, Fla. where they will face the Missouri Valley Vikings on Monday, December 2 or Tuesday, December 3 at 4:00 p.m. CST.

How it Happened
  • In the second minute of the game, a cross from Lauren Riley came off the post to Maria Vilhena whose first shot was blocked, but her rebound shot would find the back of the net to put Keiser in front, 1-0
  • Alicia Rey nearly doubled the lead in the sixth minute off a free-kick chance, but her shot would ping off the post
  • Georgia Little found Rey three minutes later in the box, but quick reactions from Laia Roch Font in goal for the Bulldogs would keep the shot out
  • In the 18th minute, Little stepped up for a corner kick, curling it to the back post and into the net for the olimpico goal and a 2-0 lead
  • Just before the half, a loose ball in the box was directed towards net by Julia Forslund, but a reactionary save from Roch Font would keep it a 2-0 game going into the break
  • Rey was on the attack again early in the second with a rocket from outside the box that was saved in the 52nd minute
  • The Seahawks would put a pair of chances on target on the ensuing corner as the shot count continued to rise in favor of KU
  • Six minutes later, Little would connect with Riley who would fire a shot through the hands of Roch Font for the third Seahawks goal of the day
  • In the 72nd minute, Riley worked down the wing before cutting back to find Vilhena who placed a shot perfectly into the top right corner of the net to make it 4-0
  • Tennessee Wesleyan had their best chance of the game following the goal, as Addison Smith was put 1-on-1 with Maude Rouanet, but it was Rouanet who won the battle with a big save
  • One minute later, the Bulldogs were attacking again with Annabel Cuthbert getting a clean look, but Rouanet came up with the diving save to keep the clean sheet alive
  • With the game in hand, many of the starters made way as Keiser would cruise to a 4-0 win
