Keiser men's basketball won a physical battle inside the Student Life Center on Saturday night, besting Warner 95-84. In a game that featured 53 personal fouls, the Seahawks used their depth to their advantage with 37 points coming from the bench.
Tyreon Payne had his best performance of the season yet, scoring 27 points to lead all scorers. The magic continued from the hands of
Chris Roth who had another stellar night from the field with 16 points on 6-of-12 shooting.
Cameron Stitt and
Vincent Miszkiewicz were the other Seahawks in double figures with 14 and 10 points, respectively.
Calvin Sirmans had a different line than usual in the box score with no official shot attempts in 38 minutes, but he did manage five points from the line and a season-high 14 assists which is tied for the third-most in program history.
Next up, Keiser will host the Thanksgiving Classic beginning Monday, November 25, with a game against the University of the Virgin Islands at 4:00 p.m. The Seahawks will then face the Brewton-Parker Barons on Tuesday, November 26 at 4:00 p.m.
With just over a minute left in the contest,
Calvin Sirmans drew a foul that led him to the free-throw line where he would sink both before the Royals turned the ball over on the other end and sent
Tyreon Payne to the line who also made both to make 91-82 with 1:13 left.
