No. 2 Keiser women's soccer cruised to a 3-0 win over the Webber International Warriors on Saturday afternoon in West Palm Beach, Fla. Julia Forslund headed home the first goal of the game on a header off a corner by Lina GröbnerLater in the first, Alicia Rey would grab her third goal of the year before notching her second goal of the game in the second half after drawing a penalty kick from a handball. The Seahawks earned their fourth shutout of the season in the win and allowed just one shot for the opposition.

Keiser's next match will be on Wednesday, October 9, when they travel to Miami Gardens to take on St. Thomas. Kickoff from AutoNation Field is set for 7:00 PM.

How it Happened
  • The Seahawks nearly broke through multiple times in the first ten minutes of the game, but Juliana Grider would collect consecutive saves for the Warriors 
  • In the 25th minute, Maria Vilhena played Lauren Riley through, who battled through contact to get a shot off but was blocked by the keeper
  • The ensuing corner from Lina Gröbner would find the head of Julia Forslund who directed it to the back post and into the net for the first goal of the game
  • Four minutes later, the Seahawks pressured again as Riley's dribble was deflected out to Alicia Rey who buried the opportunity to put KU ahead 2-0
  • Keiser would go into the break with a 2-0 lead and a 13-0 advantage in shots
  • 10 minutes into the second half, Delfina Lombardi found Rey in the box who shot the body into a Warriors defender followed by the referee raising his hand for a handball
  • Rey would step forward and send the keeper the wrong way to put Keiser up 3-0
  • Rey had her chance to finish the hat-trick in the 83rd minute off a cross from Emilia Nilsson, but her shot would go off the top of her foot and over the net for a goal kick
  • With under six minutes to play, Iðunn Rán Gunnarsdóttir played a ball over the top to Nynka Rucker, but the chance would be saved
  • In the 88th minute, Karine Ørud played Emilia Nilsson through who tapped the ball by the keeper, but it would go off the post for the final chance of the game

Game Notes
  • Keiser improves to 8-0 on the year with the win
  • The Seahawks are now 5-0 in Sun Conference play and sit a half game ahead of SCAD who play tonight
  • KU picks up their second win over Webber International this season and moves to 27-2 all-time against the Warriors
  • Keiser remains undefeated at home against Webber, moving to 15-0 in the series
  • Forslund's goal is the second in three games for the defender and her sixth of her career
  • Rey now has four goals on the season and 59 in her career with two more today
  • Gröbner continues to lead the Seahawks in assists with her sixth of the season this afternoon
