The Seahawks back line took over from there, securing their fifth shutout of the season with only two shots allowed. Keiser is off to their best start in program history with nine wins through nine games.

Keiser will be back on the road on Wednesday, October 16, when they travel to Ave Maria, Fla. to take on Ave Maria Gyrenes. Kickoff from Gyrene Field is set for 7:00 PM.

How it Happened
  • Georgia Little had the first chance of the contest after a blocked cross fell to her feet. She ripped a shot that ricocheted off the crossbar
  • In the 14th minute, Lina Gröbner found Riley with a long pass, but Riley's shot would get blocked by the Lions keeper, Lucia Martinez Garcia
  • Riley's next chance came in the 28th minute off a ball from Iðunn Rán Gunnarsdóttir, but Riley's shot would go off the post this time as the score remained tied
  • One minute later, Maria Vilhena would collect a loose ball in the FMU box and find Riley whose right-footed shot found the back of the net and put KU ahead 1-0
  • In the 32nd minute, Rey worked the ball down the win before crossing to Vilhena whose shot would be saved
  • Florida Memorial had their only true chance of the half in the 36th minute with a free-kick from around 30 yards out, but Anna Lluch's shot would sail high
  • Keiser would go into the break with the 1-0 lead and a 13-1 advantage in shots
  • In the 55th minute, a corner for Alicia Rey found the head of Gunnarsdóttir who directed the chance towards net, but Rudo Marufu was on the goal line to stop the shot from crossing the line
  • Less than five minutes later, a corner from Steingerður Snorradóttir would fall to Delfina Lombardi whose header would get saved
  • In the 73rd minute, Rey had a great opportunity, beating two defenders to put herself 1-on-1 with the keeper, but her shot would get parried away by Martinez Garcia
  • Martinez Garcia was off her line again in the 79th minute, but Keiser was unable to get a good chance on net with the keeper well outside of the box
  • Keiser would continue to pressure with a few more opportunities before settling for the 1-0 win
