No. 2 Keiser women's soccer earned another win and another clean sheet on the road Wednesday night in a 3-0 win over Ave Maria. Lauren Riley scored the opener for a second straight game, notching her team-leading 10th goal. Ellen Maund fired in a goal in the 43rd minute before Maria Vilhena finished it with her goal in the 57th minute. The Keiser back line was needed more than usual on Wednesday as the Gyrenes got five shots off. The shutout was the sixth of the season for the Seahawks, increasing their shutout streak to five straight games.

After a change in the schedule due to Hurricane Milton, Keiser will be at home on Saturday, October 19 against New College of Florida. Kickoff from Arrigo-Vecellio Field in West Palm Beach, Fla. is set for 1:30, immediately following the men's game.

How it Happened
  • Following a goal kick in the eighth minute, Julia Forslund sent a long ball over the Gyrenes defense, finding Lauren Riley who buried the opportunity to make it 1-0 KU
  • In the 22nd minute, Kana Mateaki sent a shot off towards the left side of the net, but Maude Rouanet was there to make the diving save
  • Two minutes later, Wrobleski was threatening as she got by Rouanet and sent a shot towards net, but Steingerður Snorradóttir was there to make the stop and send the ball away
  • With just over three minutes left in the half, Riley broke down the left wing and played the ball back to Ellen Maund. Maund took one touch and sent a rocket into the net to make it 2-0 going into the half.
  • Keiser's first chance of the second half would go to Ramona Kannady whose shot missed just wide left of the net minutes into the half
  • Ave Maria would create turnovers in the Seahawks half on back-to-back possessions, but Rouanet would be there to make consecutive saves
  • In the 57th minute, Kannady dispossessed a Gyrenes defender and found Maria Vilhena who guided the ball into the back of the net for the 3-0 lead.
  • The next 20 minutes would be played mostly in the midfield as both teams struggled to create a true scoring opportunity
  • Alicia Rey had the final shot of the night in the 84th minute, but it would be blocked by a defender as Keiser would go home with the 3-0 win
