Keiser women's tennis opened their ITA Cup runs with a strong first showing as the girls went 3-0 in singles play and won the lone doubles match.
The Seahawks dropped a combined six games of singles on the opening day with
Violet Apisah,
Cato Tangkau, and
Eloise de Mooij all advancing in straight sets. De Mooij produced a double donut against Madeline Monroy of Arizona Christian while Apisah won 6-1, 6-1 against Maria Ange Ortega Mateu of Lindsey Wilson and Tangkau defeated Line Jensen of Morningside 6-4, 6-0. In doubles,
Vanja Vidanovic and de Mooij had a strong first day, taking down Jimena Ramirez Llorens and Maria Alejandra Sandoval of Grace, 6-3, 6-2. The pair will advance to the quarterfinal to play Justine Lespes and Isid Hernandez of Georgia Gwinnett.

Head CoachÂ
Daniel Finn said, "I'm really happy with the way they started the tournament and the way they played today. I thought each one of them did a great job of bringing a good focus to their matches and really did a great job executing from start to finish, and it showed in the scores. Honestly, it's really important from the standpoint of just being able to play well and also get on and off the court so that you can rest the legs. This is the national championships, and teams bring the best of the best, so each day is going to continue to get tougher. If you're able to play well, and get on and off the court against a good opponent in the early rounds, they can be a big benefit towards saving your legs and just building confidence for the later matches."
