Trailing by one with four seconds left in the game, forward Kyra Long hit the game-winning, buzzer-beater to give Keiser the 60-59 victory over the Coastal Georgia Mariners on Wednesday night. 

The win marked the first conference road victory of the season for the Seahawks. Keiser was led by Zariah Jenkins, who posted a career-high 18 points on 8-of-14 shooting. Elliana Schaefer, who led the team with six assists, added 12 points in the road win.

First Quarter
Keiser 16, Coastal Georgia 16
  • A jumper by Zariah Jenkins gave Keiser a 10-6 lead with 4:28 left in the first. 
  • CCGA tied the game at 16-16 with a layup by Madison Aguilera at the 1:18 mark.
  • The Seahawks closed out the quarter shooting 53.3 percent from the floor.

Second Quarter
Keiser 37, Coastal Georgia 29
  • Elliana Schaefer opened the stanza with a 3-pointer to give Keiser a 19-16 lead (9:14).
  • Keiser extended its run to 7-0 following 3-pointer by Julia Fitzwater (23-16 with 7:41 remaining).
  • Mimmi Hahne  gave the Seahawks a nine-point lead with a made jumper at the 4:18 mark (31-22).

Third Quarter
Keiser 52, Coastal Georgia 45
  • Back-to-back buckets by Hahne (9:23) and Schaefer (8:48) gave Keiser a 41-29 lead.
  • The Mariners used a 5-0 run to cut the Keiser lead to 46-41 with 3:24 left in the third. 
  • A 3-pointer by Schaefer ended a drought of 3:02 to extend Keiser lead to 49-41.

Fourth Quarter
Keiser 60, Coastal Georgia 59
  • Neither team scored in the early part of the quarter until a pair of made free throws by CCGA's Aguilera at the 7:19 mark.
  • Kyra Long scored the Seahawk's first points of the quarter, converting a pair of free throws with 5:09 left in the game, 54-47.
  • The Mariners scored four straight points to pull within three, 54-51 (3:52).
  • Elise Ellison scored four straight points to give Keiser a 58-53 lead with 2:11 left to play.
  • Iesha Rhodin his a 3-pointer to pull CCGA within one, 58-57, with 1:20 on the game clock.
  • The Mariners took their first lead (since 9:10 in the first) with a made jumper by Jasmin Worsley with four seconds left to play.
  • After a Keiser timeout advanced the ball, Long hit the game-winning shot as time expired to give Keiser the win.

  • With the win, the Seahawks improve to 8-8 all-time versus the Mariners.
