Calvin Sirmans proved that he could do it all once again on Wednesday night, scoring a career-high 29 points in the overtime win over Southeastern in Lakeland, Fla. His three-pointer with 13 seconds left in regulation tied the game and eventually sent it into overtime where KU would come up clutch from the free-throw line for the win.
Vincent Miszkiewicz struggled with plenty of double teams on the night but was able to secure his 14th double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Brandon Farmer led the Seahawks through the first half and finished with his first 20-point performance of the season, adding nine rebounds to go along with it.
Keiser will be battling for the top spot in the Sun Conference on the home floor on Saturday, January 13 when they face (rv) Ave Maria. Tipoff from the Student Life Center in West Palm Beach, Fla. is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
Following a missed free throw with 18 seconds left,
Calvin Sirmans raced to the other end of the floor and drained a three-pointer that eventually sent the game into overtime.
Southeastern 34, Keiser 31
- Southeastern opened the game on a 5-0 run, but 10 straight (nine from Brandon Farmer) from the Seahawks pushed KU in front after the first four minutes of action.
- The lead would change hands a few times over the next five minutes before SEU broke away with a three to make it 19-15 at the 9:30 mark.
- Keiser bounced back with seven points from Calvin Sirmans and Tyler Poindexter, but back-to-back threes from the Fire put them back ahead by seven.
- The Seahawks went on to score nine of the final 14 points in the half, but Southeastern would hold on to a 34-31 lead at the break.
Keiser 72, Southeastern 72
- Vincent Miszkiewicz brought the energy in the early parts of the second half with two dunks in the first two minutes to bring the score to 40-39 in favor of SEU.
- Two minutes later, Sirmans found Miszkiewicz for the alley-oop from half court to give Keiser a 43-40 lead with 15:48 on the clock.
- The lead would change hands multiple times once again with Makai Vassell tying the game at 57-57 with under eight minutes to play.
- Keiser kept the momentum rolling as Sirmans hit a tough turnaround jumper with 4:46 on the clock to push Keiser back ahead by three.
- SEU would go on to take a late lead in the game as Vassell scored his game-leading 25th point to put the Fire ahead by two.
- Following a pair of free throws from Southeastern, Sirmans would quickly go down and cut the deficit back down to two with 22 seconds left.
- After a made free throw from Vassell, Sirmans quickly worked his way to his spot and sank his career-high 26th point with a three-pointer to tie the game at 72.
- The Seahawks would hold off the SEU offense on the other side and force overtime.
Keiser 84, Southeastern 81
- Southeastern would score first from the line before a big three-pointer from Poindexter gave KU a four-point lead halfway through the extra period.
- The game would come down to free throws and defense, and Keiser would deliver from the free-throw line, going 7-of-8 while holding Southeastern to just nine points in the overtime to seal the win.

- Keiser moves to 11-3 on the year, the best start since the 2019-20 season when they were 12-2 to begin.
- A win in the series snaps a four-game losing skid to Southeastern for the Seahawks.
- The Seahawks are now 2-0 in conference play, sharing the top spot with their next opponent, Ave Maria.
- KU moves to 11-11 in overtime games all-time, 4-7 on the road, and 1-1 against SEU in OT.
- Sirmans scored a career-high 29 points in the win for Keiser including the game-tying three-pointer that would send the contest into overtime.
- The 29 points tied Sirmans with Justin Nichelson for the most points scored in a game this season for KU.
- Farmer had a strong first half for the Seahawks, scoring 12 points and adding nine rebounds by the half before finishing with 20 points.
- With double-teams all over him, Miszkiewicz needed the extra period to secure his 14th double-double of the season as he grabbed 11 points and 10 boards.
- Sirmans also led the way for the Seahawks with seven assists and four steals, the only player on Keiser to play all 45 minutes.
- The overall rebounding numbers were even on either side with 42 total for each team.
- Keiser went into overtime shooting 65% from the free-throw line, but came in clutch with a 7-of-8 overtime mark.
