Keiser was locked in a close set with Cumberlands early on, and neither squad held more than a two point lead in the opening frame. Despite the lack of separation, the Seahawks came out on top late with a 3-1 run. The following set was controlled by the Patriots, who used a 5-0 and a 7-0 run to build a big lead. Down 19-9, KU fought back to close the gap, but a late rally wouldn't be enough as UC took the second set 25-17. Set number three began with a 3-0 Keiser run, and the 'Hawks were able to build a 14-10 lead to force a Cumberlands timeout. The Seahawks went right back to work after the break, and later closed out the set with two Brooklynn Slater kills to take a 2-1 match lead. In the final set, Keiser shook off an early 3-0 UC scoring run and responded with an impressive 10-0 run. After a UC timeout, the Seahawks resumed the attack and rattled off an 8-3 run.
