The KU volleyball team won two matches this morning on the last day of the TMU Invitational. The Seahawks defeated St. Andrews 3-0, and took down Cumberlands (Ky.) 3-1.

The Seahawks began the day with a powerful showing in set one, jumping out to a 9-4 lead to force an early SAU timeout. After the break, the Seahawks were even more effective, and sparked an 8-4 run to force another Knights timeout. The set later came to an end thanks to an 8-3 Keiser scoring run. In the second set, Keiser and St. Andrews locked up, and played a tight set until the Seahawks broke through with a 10-2 run to take a late lead, and eventually secure the set 25-18. In the final set, the Knights dueled with the Seahawks the whole way, the set went down to the wire. With KU up 24-22, the Knights mounted a fierce comeback, and even took a 25-24 lead. Keiser would regain control after a timeout however, and secured the match with three straight points.
- Hannah Heide put up 40 assists, to extend her NAIA lead.
- Erika Magin tossed three service aces.
- Aby Tibesar recorded nine kills, and two blocks.
- Sydney Wattles recorded nine kills, with one block.
- Keiser is now 4-1 in 8:00 a.m. games this season.

Keiser was locked in a close set with Cumberlands early on, and neither squad held more than a two point lead in the opening frame. Despite the lack of separation, the Seahawks came out on top late with a 3-1 run. The following set was controlled by the Patriots, who used a 5-0 and a 7-0 run to build a big lead. Down 19-9, KU fought back to close the gap, but a late rally wouldn't be enough as UC took the second set 25-17. Set number three began with a 3-0 Keiser run, and the 'Hawks were able to build a 14-10 lead to force a Cumberlands timeout. The Seahawks went right back to work after the break, and later closed out the set with two
Brooklynn Slater kills to take a 2-1 match lead. In the final set, Keiser shook off an early 3-0 UC scoring run and responded with an impressive 10-0 run. After a UC timeout, the Seahawks resumed the attack and rattled off an 8-3 run. Up 22-8, KU put the match away with a conclusive 3-1 scoring flurry.

The Seahawks will be in Arkadelphia, Arkansas next weekend to face Southwest Baptist University, West Alabama, Lane College, and SE Oklahoma State.
