Keiser volleyball collected two more wins on the second day of the Phoenix Classic, defeating Faulkner and Madonna in six consecutive sets.

The Seahawks were primed and ready to go in the early morning and raced out to an early 9-1 lead in the set. KU maintained that momentum and held an 11-point lead when a 6-1 Faulkner scoring run put the Eagles back in the game. After that, Faulkner's service and attacking errors gave Keiser the momentum back, and the Seahawks finished the set on top. In set two, the Eagles took an early 14-10 lead, but the Seahawks were unfazed and battled to tie the set at 20 apiece. From there, coach
James Rogers' unit closed the set on an impressive 5-0 run that featured three
Erika Magin service aces. Set three was a good one for the Seahawks as well, who took an early 12-9 lead before an Eagle attacking error sparked an 11-2 Keiser scoring run. After two Faulkner points, two service aces from
Hannah Heide wrapped up the match for KU.

Keiser kept up its energy and offensive output in their second game of the day. The Seahawks began set one battling evenly with the Crusaders with KU eventually building an 18-17 lead. At that point, a 5-0 run for Keiser put the Seahawks in the driver's seat, and they eventually took the set 25-21. In the following set, the Crusaders took the lead early and held a 7-5 advantage. The Seahawks responded to the deficit with a dominating 9-1 run and maintained the lead for the rest of the set. The final set featured less separation on the scoreboard with neither team scoring more than three consecutive points. Despite the close score, the Seahawks led the entire way. KU was up 24-20 late when a Crusader setting error gave Keiser the match victory.

The Seahawks will take on Point at 9:00 AM tomorrow morning in Marietta Ga. and will face Reinhardt afterward. In the evening, Keiser will play two games at Tennessee Wesleyan.
