The Keiser volleyball team picked up two wins today on their first day of the Vipers Sports Academy Classic. The Seahawks took care of business in three sets versus William Carey, and won a five-set thriller versus Campbellsville.

The Seahawks began the day, and their season with a strong performance in set one. The two squads locked up early on, until the score read 9-8. That's when a
Brooklynn Slater kill ignited a 12-2 Keiser run. After taking the first set, Keiser took a quick lead in the next set, eventually leading 10-8. At that point, the Seahawks put together a 5-2 run to extend the Keiser lead, featuring a
Hannah Heide service ace. Later in the second set, Keiser engineered a commanding 7-0 run that put the Seahawks up by two sets. In the final set, Keiser and William Carey battled evenly until the score read 10-9. At that mark,
Brooklynn Slater ignited a 10-2 run with back-to-back kills. From that point on Keiser held a comfortable lead, and the game came to an end on a William Carey attacking error.

Keiser got its second victory of the day in a tightly fought match versus the Tigers of Campbellsville. The first set was a blow-for-blow slugfest, that was eventually tied 14-14. At that point, the Seahawks put together a 5-0 run that gave them enough momentum to take the set. The 'Hawks jumped out to a quick lead in set two with a 7-1 run, took the set despite a late CU 7-0 run. The Tigers clawed back in the match in set three, and eventually took the set 25-21. Keiser had a chance to end the game in set four, but a tenacious effort from Campbellsville put the Tigers up 16-13 late. Keiser answered back with a 4-0 run featuring an
Erika Magin service ace to tie the set 21-21, but the Tigers came out on top 25-23. The fifth and final set started with two Campbellsville points, but a 5-0 run by Keiser gave the Seahawks a lead they would hold for the remainder of the set. Starting with a libero kill from
Erika Magin, the Seahawks ended the match on an 8-2 run, and Keiser finished the day undefeated.

The Seahawks will take on Mobile tomorrow at 8:00 a.m., Rust at 10:00 a.m., and Life at 4:00 p.m.
