Season-High From Christian Miller-Cardwell Not Enough as Men's Basketball Falls to Warner

Keiser men's basketball fell to the Warner Royals on Saturday evening in Lake Wales, Fla. Christian Miller-Cardwell scored the most points in a game as a Seahawk with 25 to lead the effort.

Consecutive layups from Logan West and Christian Nurse gave the Royals their largest lead of the game with 7:49 left in the contest.
 
 
How it Happened


First Half
Warner 46, Keiser 32
  • The Royals jumped out to a 7-1 lead early in the game with Joseph Martz scoring five in the first three minutes.
  • Two three-pointers from Brandon Younger and DaQuan Williams halted the Warner run but the Royals continued to lead by eight at the 13:53 mark.
  • Keiser would get on the offensive for a moment but Warner answered with a 12-8 run to hold on to their lead.
  • Christian Miller-Cardwell began to make his moves late in the first, leading a 7-0 run for the Seahawks that cut the lead to just five with 7:50 to play in the first.
  • However, Warner would take back control of the game, taking an 8-1 scoring run to the four-minute mark with a 12-point lead.
  • Keiser would have a slight advantage finishing the half but a foul on a three-point shooter put Martz at the line where he sank all three that gave the Royals a 46-32 lead at the break.

Second Half
Warner 86, Keiser 74
  • Warner attacked in the second-half early but it was Justin Tucker who was keeping it within reach with four early points for the Seahawks.
  • The Royals continued their offensive charge with a 7-4 run midway through the half to give them a 63-43 lead.
  • Miller-Cardwell began willing Keiser back into the game with eight of the next 10 points for KU.
  • However, Warner continued to pile on the advantage with a 5-2 run to go ahead by 23 with under eight minutes on the clock.
  • Keiser would fight to cut down the deficit but would not get within 12 points of the lead as Warner prevailed, 86-74.
