In front of a packed Student Life Center, Keiser men's basketball and No. 18 The Master's put on a show for all fans in attendance with the Seahawks winning a nail-biter, 76-74. Down 67-72, Keiser went 7-of-8 from the free throw line including Calvin Sirmans' 22nd point to give KU a two-point lead with 16 seconds left. The Mustangs would get a chance on the other end, but a huge block from Vincent Miszkiewicz with four seconds left in the game provided Keiser with the decisive stand on defense. The Master's would get a couple more looks on the ensuing possession, but the Seahawks would hold on for the win.

Keiser will have a week of rest before facing Florida National on the home floor on Wednesday, December 6, with tipoff scheduled for 6:00 p.m.

With 4:08 remaining, Vincent Miszkiewicz grabbed his own miss and got a putback layup before taking down a defensive rebound on the other end and following it up with a three-pointer to give Keiser momentum into the final minutes.
 
 
How it Happened


First Half
The Master's 35, Keiser 32
  • With the game tied at 3-3, Tyler Poindexter hit a 3-pointer to give Keiser a 6-3 lead with 16:56 on the game clock.
  • The Seahawks extended their lead with a layup by Brandon Farmer, 8-3 (15:07).
  • Out of the media timeout, the Mustangs scored five straight to tie the game at 8-8 (13:51).
  • Back-to-back triples by the Seahawks (Farmer - 13:29; Justin Nichelson - 11:40) gave Keiser a 14-8 advantage.
  • The Master's used a 12-4 run over the next 2:30 to take a 20-15 lead. 
  • Trailing 26-19 with 7:32 left in the half, the Seahawks went on an 8-0 run to regain the lead, 27-26 (5:38).
  • A pair of made free throws by Tylar Cerez put Keiser ahead, 29-28, with 2:42 left in the half.
  • The Mustangs used a 7-0 run to push their lead to 35-29 with just over a minute left to play in the first.
  • Farmer scored the final bucket of the half with a 3-pointer at the 00:47 mark (35-32).

Second Half

  • Poindexter scored the first bucket of the half to pull Keiser within one, 35-34 (19:49).
  • The Mustangs rattled off five straight points to push the lead to 40-34 with 18:08 left to play.
  • Poindexter hit a 3-pointer to cut The Master's lead to 43-42 (15:30).
  • Again, Keiser pulled within one as Vincent Miszkiewicz converted the putback on his 10th rebound of the game, 45-44.
  • Another three by Poindexter tied the game at 49-49 with 11:43 left in the game.
  • A 7-0 run by the Mustangs gave The Master's a 58-51 edge (9:19).
  • Layups by Farmer (9:08) and Sirmans (8:44) cut the deficit to 58-55.
  • A 6-0 run by The Master's extended the Mustangs' lead to 66-57 with 6:07 left in the game.
  • Out of a Keiser timeout, Sirmans hit a trey to cut the lead down to 66-60 (5:53).
  • Miszkiewicz hit a 3-pointer with 3:31 left in the game to record his eighth double-double of the season as Keiser trailed, 70-67.
  • Off of a turnover by the Mustangs (a drawn charge by Sirmans), Miszkiewicz went to the line at the other end for two shots, hitting both as Keiser cut the deficit to 72-71 (1:36).
  • Another Mustang's turnover, this time forced by Farmer, resulted in a made layup by Miszkiewicz to give Keiser the lead, 73-72, with 54.7 left in the game.
  • After a pair of free throws by the Mustangs, the Seahawks responded with two from the line by Miszkiewicz, 75-74 (00:32).
  • On the next possession, Sirmans picked the pocket of Kaleb Lowery and put himself at the line.
  • After hitting one of two, the Mustangs came down to the other end and put up a floater that was swatted away by Miszkiewicz with three seconds left.
  • Caden Starr would get an open look before the clock expired, but his shot clanged off the rim to secure the win for Keiser.
