Women's Basketball Earns 57-Point Win at Fort Lauderdale, 110-53

Recording the highest point total in 10 years, the Keiser women's basketball team defeated the Fort Lauderdale Eagles, 110-53, in North Miami, Florida, on Wednesday.

Six Seahawks reached double-figures in the game led by Halle Traylor, who posted a game-high 22 points. Traylor also dished out a season-high eight assists versus the Eagles.

Outscoring the Eagles, 32-15 in the second quarter, including a 17-8 run to start the stanza, the Seahawks pulled away from UFTL en route to Keiser's largest point total in 10 seasons.

First Quarter
Keiser 22, Fort Lauderdale 13
  • Keiser opened the game on a 7-2 run after nearly five minutes of action.
  • The Eagles pulled within one, 9-8, following a 3-pointer by Britney Carver (4:25).
  • The Seahawks outscored UFTL, 13-5, to take an nine point lead into the second. 

Second Quarter
Keiser 54, Fort Lauderdale 28
  • The Seahawks pushed their lead to 32-18, posting a 10-5 run to start the quarter.
  • Another run by the Seahawks (this time 10-2) made it a 19-point game after Kyra Long drained a 3-pointer with 3:45 left in the half.
  • Keiser went on a 12-2 run to close out the half up by 26 points.

Third Quarter
Keiser 85, Fort Lauderdale 41
  • The Seahawks scored seven straight points to start the second half, leading the Eagles, 61-28.
  • An 11-0 run midway through the third gave Keiser a 42-point lead, 72-30.

Fourth Quarter
Keiser 110, Fort Lauderdale 53
  • With a 12-3 run to start the fourth, Keiser extended its lead to 97-44 with 6:36 left in the game.
  • Keiser added 13 more points in the quarter, posting the most points since the 2013 season.


Game Notes

  • With the win, Keiser improves to 5-2 on the season. 
  • Wednesday marked the first meeting all-time between the two teams.
  • With the win, Keiser is now 58-63 all-time versus first-time opponents
  • The Seahawks will face five first-time opponents this season, already facing three (1-2).
