Keiser women's tennis opened their ITA Cup runs with a strong first showing as the girls went 3-0 in singles play and won both of their doubles matches.
Violet Apisah, Katie Visnevscaia, and Isabella Perez Flores all cruised through their first-round matchups. Apisah was up 4-3 in the first set before rattling off eight straight games to win 6-3, 6-0 over Olivia Scattini of LSU-Alexandria. Visnevscaia and Perez Flores also got through their first round with ease with Visnevscaia winning 6-0, 6-1 and Perez Flores winning 6-2, 6-2. In doubles action, Perez Flores teamed with
Yeva Kononovych to win 5-7, 6-3, 11-9. On the bottom side of the bracket, Apisah paired with
Vanja Vidanovic to win 7-5, 6-3 to advance to the quarterfinals.

Daniel Finn said, "Certainly happy with the performance of the ladies today, especially in singles to start the day strong and look pretty focused for the most part. A lot of the time, those early-round matches are tricky and complicated while you try to work through the nerves of a national tournament. Doubles wasn't our best showing today, but in the end, we found a way to win and got through it which is all that matters in the national tournament. Tomorrow is the quarterfinals so I wouldn't expect any easy matches regardless of who is on the other side of the net. We have to make sure to concentrate on ourselves and control what we can control. The main focus this evening will be to get back to the hotel, get rested up, and make the adjustments to get prepared for another day tomorrow."
