The No. 2 Keiser women's tennis evened their all-time series with Division II Saint Leo on Saturday with a 5-2 win on the road.


doubles
  • The Lions took advantage early in doubles play with a 6-2 win on court three.
  • Saint Leo followed with the doubles point clincher on court two 6-3 before finishing their doubles sweep on court one with a 6-4 win.

singles
  • Singles play brought an entirely different story as No. 1 Violet Apisah put KU on the board on court two with a 6-3, 6-1 win.
  • No. 2 Yvette Schmucker followed shortly after with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Lavinia Lancellotti on court four to make it 2-1 in favor of the Seahawks.
  • Ksenija Vujacic picked up her first win as a Seahawk on court three, winning 6-2, 6-3 over Luzia Obermeier.
  • After Elyse Lavender was forced to retire going into the third set, No. 11 Isabella Perez Flores earned a 6-4, 6-4 win on court six.
  • No. 18 Vanja Vidanovic closed out the match with a 6-3, 7-6(3) win on court five to give Keiser their second top-3 Division II win of the year.

Coach's Corner
"Happy to get to win of course but that was far from our prettiest tennis today," said Head Coach, Daniel Finn, ". We came out slow out of the gate and did not play well at all in doubles. With that said I'm happy with how they responded, found ways to win their singles points, and get another quality win today. These last two wins definitely give us some confidence heading into a big tournament next week. Now the girls will rest up and start preparing for indoor nationals next week."
