The Keiser women's basketball team dropped a 54-42 decision to the Coastal Georgia Mariners on Thursday night. The Seahawks had a rough night shooting from the floor, converting just 22.6 percent (12-of-53), including 2-of-17 from 3-point range (11.7 percent).

Having a one-point lead after two quarters of play, the Seahawks shot just 2-of-8 from the field in the third quarter to fall behind, 37-29. The Seahawks pulled within five in the final stanza but shot poorly in the fourth quarter (20.0 percent), resulting in a 12-point loss.

Coastal Georgia 13, Keiser 8

Elise Ellison-Coons got things started with a made layup with 9:42 on the game clock.
Kennedy Schlabach gave Keiser a 4-0 lead with layup on the team next possession.
The Mariners responded with a 3-pointer by Nicole Hoffman to make it a 4-3 game (8:33).
CCGA took its first lead of the game with a jumper by Sonia Forney with 7:50 left in the first.
Ellison-Coons scored her second bucket of the game, giving the Seahawks a 6-5 lead (6:58).
The Mariners regained the lead with 5:05 left in the quarter on a made 3-pointer by Iesha Rhodin.
Joyce Jordan extended the Mariners lead to 10-6 with 4:27 on the game clock.
Andressa Nascimento snapped a CCGA 8-0 run with a made layup with 1:30 on the game clock (13-8).

Keiser 21, Coastal Georgia 20

Ellison-Coons converted a pair of free throws to cut the Mariners lead to 13-10 (9:17).
The Seahawks scored two more points on a layup by Ellison-Coons (assisted by Schlabach) to cut the deficit to one, 13-12.
With 7:23 on the clock, CCGA took a four-point lead, 16-12, following a made triple by Kelsey Leddle.
Nascimento went 2-of-2 from the line (7:01) to make it a 16-14 game.
KU scored two more points from the line (Schlabach) to tie the game at 16-16 with 6:01 left in the half.
Ellison-Coons gave the Seahawks the lead with her fourth bucket of the game, 18-16.
Janiece Thomas hit a pair from the charity stripe to give KU a 21-17 lead (3:42).
CCGA's Gabby Litvak hit a 3-pointer with 2:00 on the game clock to cut the Keiser lead to 21-20.

Coastal Georgia 37, Keiser 29

The Mariners took a 22-21 lead following a pair of made free throws by Rhodin (9:37).
Schlabach went 1-of-2 from the line with 8:52 on the game clock to tie the contest at 22-22.
Ellison-Coons pushed Keiser back in the lead with a layup at the 8:03 mark (24-22).
That didn't last long as CCGA responded with a 3-pointer by Rhodin to make it 25-24 in favor of the Mariners (7:36).
Nicole Hofmann hit the second straight three for the Mariners to give CCGA a 28-24 advantage.
After a technical foul by Forney, Schlabach went 1-of-2 from the line to make it a 28-25 game.
With 5:36 left in the third, Schlabach hit a 3-pointer to tie the game 28-28. The bucket was assisted by Shykim Gillion.
Hofmann drained her third 3-pointer of the game to give CCGA a 31-28 lead (3:36).
Rhodin extended the Mariners lead to 33-28 with a made basket (3:02).
Forney pushed the Mariners run to 7-0 with a made jumper (1:06).

Coastal Georgia 54, Keiser 42

Julia Fitzwater hit the first bucket of the final frame with a 3-pointer to cut the CCGA lead to 37-32 (8:38).
Rhodin scored her 17th point of the contest with a made jumper (8:01) to give the Mariners a 39-32 lead
Thomas countered with a made layup at the 7:54 mark, making it 39-34.
CCGA extened its 7-2 run with a Joyce Jordan bucker, giving the Mariners a double-digit lead (44-34).
Taylor Jones made a pair of the free throws ot make it 44-36 (4:35).
After Forney went 1-of-2 from the line for the Mariners, Schlabach cut the lead to 45-38 with a jumper at the 3:48 mark.
Schlabach drained back-to-back free throws with 2:42 left in the game to make it a five-point contest (45-40).
Jordan pushed CCGA's lead to 47-40 with a layup (1:38).
Schlabach hit a jumper with 0:28 left on the game clock to cut the deficit to 49-42.
However, CCGA's Hofmann made both of her free-throw attempts with 24 second left in the game to put the lead back nine, 51-42.

The loss moves Keiser to 12-9 overall this season and 3-6 in Sun Conference action.
With the loss, Keiser drops to 7-8 all-time versus the Mariners.
The loss snapped a six-game winning streak for the Seahawks over the Mariners.
With the loss, Keiser is now 2-6 all-time versus the Mariners in Brunswick, Ga.
The Seahawks are now 6-6 all-time versus CCGA in Sun Conference action.
Keiser is now 1-3 in road conference games this season.

Kennedy Schlabach led all Seahawks with 15 points with six points coming via the free-throw line.
Elise Ellison-Coons added 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting (3-of-4 from the free-throw line).
Schlabach was tied for the team lead in assists (3) with Shykim Gillion.
Ellison-Coons led the team along with Taylor Jones, who each grabbed six boards.
The Mariners out-rebounded the Seahawks 43-35 - it was the first time in the last five games in which the Seahawks trailed in rebounding.
