Keiser men's basketball fell short in their efforts on Saturday as they fell to Southeastern at home, 87-64.
Southeastern opened the second half with a 13-0 run to break the game open and give them a lead that would never drop below 15 for the remainder of the match.
SEU 37, Keiser 28
- Both sides got off to hot starts as it was all even at 9-9 after the first five minutes of play.
- Southeastern then jumped out on their first run of the game as the Fire held a 21-12 lead at the 9:39 mark.
- The Seahawks bounced back with a 10-7 run of their own but Joshua Blazquez hit a layup to leave SEU in front 30-22 with 5:16 showing.
- The Fire turned that basket into an 11-0 run over the next three minutes to extend their lead.
- Keiser would score the final six points of the half but trail 37-28 going into the break.
SEU 87, Keiser 64
- Southeastern kicked off the second half with a 13-0 run to take the 50-28 lead with 16:07 on the clock.
- Riley Minix began to heat up, scoring seven of the next 13 points for the Fire as they extended their lead to 63-34.
- Back-to-back baskets by the Seahawks began to cut into the lead but Southeastern proved too much with another 7-0 run to make it a 72-39 game.
- Core'von Lott had some momentum going for Keiser, scoring nine of the next 13 points of a KU 13-4 run.
- Following two free throws from SEU, DaQuan Williams scored the next five points to bring the deficit down to 25 with 3:53 showing.
- The run would end there for the Seahawks as Southeastern closed out the game with a 9-7 run to win 87-64.

- The Seahawks are now 13-5 on the home floor when facing Southeastern.
- Across the Sun Conference, the higher seeds all took hits resulting in a three-way tie for third at 5-3, one game behind first place.

- Keiser was able to get the offensive rebounds on the night, taking down 14 in the game to create 14 second-chance points.
