The Keiser women's basketball team won suffered a 57-51 loss at Ave Maria on Thursday night. Held scoreless in the final 1:20 of the game, Keiser dropped to 3-4 in Sun Conference action.
Shykim Gillion led all Seahawks with 12 points while
Elise Ellison-Coons notched a team-best nine boards to go along with 10 points.
Ave Maria's Casey Humphrey forced a turnover with 22 seconds left in the game as Keiser trailed 52-51, resulting in a pair of made free throws which gave AMU a three-point lead. Unable to sink the game-tying 3-pointer with less than 10 second remaining in the contest, the Seahawks were forced to send the Gyrenes to the line one more time as AMU extended its lead, 57-51.

- After the Gyrenes scored the first points of the game (9:15), Elise Ellison-Coons tied the contest with a pair of made free throw with 7:16 on the game clock.
- Kennedy Schlabach gave the Seahawks a 7-6 lead after the first made 3-pointer of the game with 4:03 left in the first.
- Elliana Schaefer extended the Keiser lead to 9-6 with 3:16 on the game clock, hitting the team's second consecutive bucket.

- Gillion scored the first basket of the second half on an assist from Schlabach to give Keiser a 21-17 lead with 8:49 on the clock.
- AMU responded on the next possession with a layup by Field, 21-19 (8:19).
- Not to be outdone, Ellison-Coons scored on a three-point play with 7:54 left in the third to give the Seahawks a 24-19 lead.
- The Gyrenes went on a 5-0 run to tie the game at 24-24 (6:28).
- AMU took the lead, 26-24, with a layup by Abby Phibbs with 6:01 on the game clock.
- Schaefer tied the game with a made jumper with 5:34 left in the third, 26-26.
- Gillion gave the Seahawks a 31-30 lead with her first 3-pointer of the game (1:51).

As part of the game, Keiser has partnered with The Pat Summitt Foundation to raise funds to fight to end Alzheimer's.
