Keiser women's tennis had a perfect first day of tennis at the ITA Regionals in Boca Raton, Fla. The ladies finished 6-0 in singles play and received byes in the first round of doubles action.
Though all of the girls won all of their matches, it was the first Seahawks singles win for
Yvette Schmucker and
Violet Apisah as the two newcomers won their respective matches in straight sets. Additionally,
Florencia Araya was called on early as she played her way through the round of 64 with a 6-0, 6-1 win over CCGA's Danielle Silvan before advancing to the round of 16 with a 6-0, 6-3 win over SCAD's Lisa Konrad. With two singles rounds and one doubles round in the books, everyone will be in action tomorrow morning at 8:30 am with the round of 16 doubles slated to begin.

Head Coach
Daniel Finn said, "Solid day by the girls. Really thought we did a great job of staying focused for the majority of the matches and taking care of business by getting on and off the court. With a tournament of this size and depth, it's very important to be able to get off the court in a timely manner and be able to rest up for the next days. Will definitely be welcome to get home and rest up for another tough day tomorrow."
