The Keiser flag football team played its first game in 21 days, shutting out the Florida Memorial Lions, 19-0, on Thursday night. 

The Seahawks shut down the Lions offense, holding FMU to 49 total yards of offense and 1.8 yards per play. The shutout was the third of the season for KU and marked the team's second straight (19-0 versus St. Thomas on March 10). 

Kennedy Foster led the Seahawks with nine catches for 85 yards and two touchdowns while Maria Vega set the tone of the game, recording a "pick six" on the very first play of the contest. 
 

First Quarter

  • On the first play of the game, Maria Vega picked off a Diamond Mays pass for a "pick six".
  • The extra-point attempt was unsuccessful, 6-0.
  • Jazmine Rhoden connected with Kennedy Foster for a nine-yard touchdown pass later in the quarter.
  • Rhoden found Adriana Rodriguez for a successful extra-point attempt, giving KU a 13-0 lead with 4:34 left in the quarter.

Second Quarter

  • On fourth-and-22, the Seahawks nearly extended their lead midway through the second as Rhoden found Foster for 20 yards.
  • The catch resulted in a turnover-on-downs at the FMU two-yard line.  

Third Quarter

  • Foster recorded her second receiving touchdown of the game with a 10-yard catch from Rhoden late in the third (3:27).

Fourth Quarter

  • The Seahawks held the Lion's offense to negative one yard of total offense in the quarter, completing the team's second straight shutout victory.
