The Keiser women's basketball team out-scored Taylor, 35-18 in the second half, including a 17-7 score in the fourth quarter but fell just three points shy of defeating the Trojans as the Seahawks lost, 63-61, on Saturday afternoon in Babson Park, Florida.

Four Seahawks scored in double-figures led by Elise Ellison-Coons and Andressa Nascimento, who each tallied 12 points. Shykim Gillion paced all Seahawks with seven rebounds.

Out-scoring the Trojans 17-7 in the fourth quarter, Keiser trailed Taylor, 63-61 with five seconds on the game clock. With possession of the ball, KU's Andressa Nascimento had a good look at the game-winning 3-pointer. The shot - from the left side of arc - missed its target, resulting in the two-point loss.

First Quarter

Taylor 22, Keiser 10
  • The Trojans got the scoring started with a 3-pointer by Ariel Dale with 8:52 on the clock.
  • Elise Ellison-Coons scored the first bucket of the day for the Seahawks with a made jumper at the 8:24 mark.
  • Taylor pushed its lead to 7-2 following a layup by Gretchen Moll (6:29).
  • Shykim Gillion rattled off four straight points for Keiser to pull the Seahawks within one, 9-8 (4:17).
  • The Trojans used a 13-2 run to close out the quarter.

Second Quarter

Taylor 45, Keiser 26
  • Ellison-Coons drained a bucket with 8:32 on the clock to cut the Trojan lead to 22-13.
  • Maycee Woods pushed the Taylor lead back to double-digits, 25-13, with a 3-pointer with 8:09 on the game clock.
  • Back-to-back 3-pointers by Elliana Schaefer and Janiece Thomas made it a 25-19 game with 6:55 remaining the half.
  • Taylor out-scored the Seahawks, 18-5, in the final six minutes of the half to enter the break up, 45-26.

Third Quarter

Taylor 56, Keiser 44
  • A layup by Ava Henson gave Taylor its largest lead of the game, 47-26, with 9:21 on the game clock.
  • The Seahawks used a 6-0 run to cut the lead to 53-38 with 2:33 left in the third.
  • After a 3-pointer by TU's Woods made it 56-38, Keiser scored six straight to close out the stanza.

Fourth Quarter

Taylor 63, Keiser 61
  • The Seahawks continued their run, cutting the Taylor lead to seven, 56-49, following a 3-pointer by Andressa Nascimento (9:05).
  • TU added a point after Moll made one-of-two from the free-throw line, 57-49 (8:41).
  • Keiser used an 8-1 run to make it a one-point game, 58-57, following a 3-pointer by Gillion (5:58).
  • Elise Ellison-Coons gave Keiser its first lead of the game with a made layup, 61-60, with 2:28 left in the game.
  • Taylor Westgate regained the lead for the Trojans, 62-61, with a bucket at the 1:18 mark.
  • Trailing 63-61, Keiser had the ball with five seconds left in the contest. 
  • A 3-point attempt by Nascimento missed the mark resulting in the two-point loss.
