Keiser men's basketball could not overcome the hot shooting Night Hawks of Thomas on Monday night as the Seahawks would fall 85-77.

At the 6:43 mark, Thomas would hit three three-pointers on three consecutive offensive possessions to take a 69-64 lead that they would not give back.

 
 
How it Happened


First Half
Thomas 35, Keiser 34
  • The Night Hawks would jump out to a 7-2 lead to begin the game with Mohammed Abubakar scoring the first four of the game.
  • Keiser would tie the game at 7-7 capped by back-to-back layups by Brandon Younger.
  • The two sides would trade baskets for the next five minutes with Younger hitting a trey to put the Seahawks ahead 11-10 going into the second media timeout.
  • Another five-minute stretch would go by with DaQuan Williams scoring five of his first six points to keep the game knotted at 27-27 with 5:06 left in the half.
  • Thomas would end the half on an 8-7 run, but Williams would get the last basket of the half to cut the Night Hawks lead to 35-34 going into the break.

Second Half
Thomas 85, Keiser 77
  • The second half would start with five straight makes from both sides with Williams sinking a jumper to give KU a 41-40 lead.
  • After a hot start, the two sides would then combine 4-of-13 with Keiser taking their largest lead of the night, 47-43 with just under 14 minutes remaining.
  • The Seahawks would then go on a 10-7 run to increase their lead to 57-50 with 10:26 still to play.
  • Thomas used the next minute and a half to take an 8-0 run and the lead from KU, 58-57.
  • Keiser would get a 4-2 run to counter, but three offensive possessions with three-pointers would give the Night Hawks a 69-64 lead with 5:32 left in the game.
  • Jordan Agyemang found Core'von Lott at the 3:24 mark to cut the lead to 73-70 but two free throws for Thomas would bring the lead back to five with 3:02 remaining.
  • Thomas would end the game on a 10-4 run and hold off the Seahawks to stay undefeated in conference play, 85-77.
