Keiser men's basketball rode the wave of its two guards,
DaQuan Williams and
Core'von Lott on Thursday in Miami Gardens. The pair combined for 48 of the Seahawks' 88 points in the win over the St. Thomas Bobcats.
Brandon Younger's three-pointer with 1:42 left in the game stretched the Keiser lead to 81-75 to put the Seahawks in control of the game.
Keiser 35, St. Thomas 28
- The Bobcats started off hot, hitting two three-pointers on their first three possessions.
- Keiser would respond with a 9-0 run capped by a Brandon Younger three-pointer.
- Following a Bobcats score, the Seahawks would go on a 9-4 run to take the 18-13 lead with 14:19 left in the half.
- The next three minutes would go scoreless before Christian Miller-Cardwell splashed home a three.
- STU would crawl back and make it a one-point game with 8:01 left to play.
- Back-to-back-to-back threes by DaQuan Williams, Shaquille Harris, and Williams again brought the lead to 31-21 with just over six minutes on the clock.
- The Bobcats would end the half on a 7-4 run to cut the lead but Keiser would stay hang on to a 35-28 lead heading into the half.
Keiser 88, St. Thomas 81
- The two sides traded baskets to open the second half scoring with the score settling at 41-37 with 15:38 left in the game.
- Keiser would use the next two minutes to go on a 7-0 run and open a 48-37 lead on the Bobcats.
- STU had a response as always, using four points from the line and four from the paint to cut the lead to 51-45 with 11:02 showing.
- The Seahawks would follow with a 10-3 run of their own capped by a Lott three-pointer with 9:16 on the clock.
- Three triples in a row by the Bobcats once again cut the lead down over the next minute of the game as the score settled at 61-57.
- Lott and Williams would score five each over the next three minutes of play to get the double-digit lead back with just over five minutes to play.
- The Bobcats would not go down easily as they brought the lead down to five again with 3:15 on the clock.
- After a St. Thomas three-pointer, Younger responded with one of his own to make it an 81-75 game with 1:42 showing.
- Keiser would close out the game by going 7-of-8 from the free-throw line and taking home the win, 88-81.

- Keiser improved to 21-16 all-time against the Bobcats.
- KU is now 10-8 on the road in Miami Gardens.
- The Seahawks win in the conference opener is their 13th dating back to 2006.
- KU took a two-point lead with 16:02 left in the first half and held on throughout the rest of the game.
- DaQuan Williams' 26 points are the most points by a Keiser player this season.
- Justin Tucker also set a team-best 11 rebounds while Brandon Younger dished out a team-high six assists.
- After entering the game shooting 60.8% from the free-throw line, the Seahawks used a 76% shooting night from the line to take them home.
- Keiser was also hitting from downtown, shooting a season-best 55% from beyond the arc.
- It was also the best shooting night from the field for the Seahawks as they went 50.9% in the contest.
- Core'von Lott's 22 points were huge in the win as the guard added a team-high four steals.
- Younger was a threat all around the floor as he scored 12, grabbed eight boards, and two steals to go along with the assists.
- Keiser continues to control the boards in each game, out-rebounding the Bobcats 39-22 including 13 offensive boards.
