Never trailing in the game, the Keiser women's basketball team improved to 2-0 on the young season with a lopsided 78-37 win over the Johnson (Fla.) Suns on Monday night. Three Seahawks reached double-figures in scoring, including 
Shykim Gillion (18 points), who was a perfect 9-of-9 from the field. 
 
The Seahawks opened the game with an 15-2 run and never looked back. 
 
 
Keiser 20, Johnson (Fla.) 6
	- Julia Fitzwater got the scoring started, hitting a 3-pointer with 9:40 on the game clock.
 
	- The Seahawks went on a 15-2 run to start the game, capped off by a made layup by Shykim Gillion with 2:48 left in the first.
 
	- Buckets by Gillion, Elliana Schaefer, and Elise Ellison-Coons rounded out the scoring the the Seahawks as KU held a 14-point lead after one.
 
	- Gillion led all Seahawks with six points in the first 10 minutes of action. 
 
Keiser 32, Johnson (Fla.) 18
	- The Suns made a run to cut into the Keiser lead, pulling with in eight points, 24-16, following a 3-pointer by Rachel Watts (3:40).
 
	- After both team exchanged buckets, the Seahawks scored the six points to take a 32-18 lead heading into halftime.
 
	- Through 20 minutes of action,. Gillion paced the Seahawks with 12 points.
 
	- Keiser held a 26-16 edge in rebounding with 20 minute left to play.

	- Keiser blew the game wide open with a 16-0 run to start the quarter.
 
	- The Seahawks held a 48-18 lead with 4:10 remaining in the third.
 
	- Kennedy Schlabach led the Seahawks during the run, scoring 12 of the team's 16 points during the run.
 
	- Schaefer kept the Seahawk lead to over 30 with a 3-pointer (1:43 - 53-22) and a tradition three-point play (00:20 - 56-24) in the final two minutes of the stanza.

	- The Seahawks used a 16-0 run ot push the lead to 45 (74-29) with 3:15 left in the game. 
 
	- Keiser maintained its 40-point lead, holding the Suns to just six points in the final three minutes of the game.
 
	- The Seahawks out-scored the Suns 22-12 in the fourth for the team's second straight win to open the 2022-23 season.
