The Keiser women's basketball team opened the 2022-23 season with an impressive 66-39 win over the Trinity Baptist Eagles on Friday, October 28.
Three Seahawks reached double-figures in scoring, including
Elise Ellison-Coons, who registered her first double-double of the season (11 pts, 14 reb.). The Seahawks held a dominating 54-34 edge in rebounding (26-2 on the offensive glass).
An 8-0 run by the Seahawks late in the first quarter, highlighted by a pair of treys by
Julia Fitzwater.
Keiser 19, Trinity Baptist 10
- TBC took the first lead of game with a 3-pointer by Oceane Tabbak with 6:53 on the game clock.
- Keiser took the lead following four straight points by Elise Ellison-Coons.
- An 8-0 run by the Seahawks gave KU a 14-6 lead with 1:31 left in hte quarter after another Fitzwater trey.
- Andressa Nascimento hit the team's fifth triple of the quarter as time expired as KU took a 19-10 lead after one.

- Fitzwater extended the Keiser lead with a trey at the 9:22 mark, 22-10.
- Fitzwater gave the Seahawks their biggest lead (at the time) (+15) with a made jumper, 28-13 (6:22).
- A pair of made free throws by Taylor Jones with 46 seconds left in the half, gave Keiser a 32-17 lead.
- The Eagle's hit the final bucket of the half when Autumn Vineyard converted a fastbreak layup with 18 seconds on the game clock, 32-19.
Keiser 49, Trinity Baptist 28
- Ellison-Coons scored the first points of the half with a pair of made free throw, 34-19.
- After a mde jumper by TBC's Emma Parrish, Kennedy Schlabach hit her first 3-pointer as the Seahawk, giving KU a 37-23 lead.
- A made layup by Ellison-Coons followed by two made free throw by Jones made it a 41-26 game in favore of the Seahawks.
- Elliana Schaefer gave KU its then-biggest lead of the game with a made layup, 43-26.
- Back-to-back buckets by Jones pushed the lead to 21, 47-26, with 1:41 left in the third.
- Schaefer hit the final bucket of the quarter at the 1:00 mark, giving Keiser a 49-28 lead.

- Shykim Gillion extended the lead to 26 points with a made layup and a triple with 7:49 on the game clock.
- Janiece Thomas made it a 30-point game with back-to-back layups as the Seahawks led, 58-28, with 5:50 remaining in the contest.
- Baskets by Gillion and Thomas kept the lead at 30 (62-32) with 3:36 left in regulation.
