Keiser women's tennis opened up play at the Barry Invitational with pedestrian results in Miami Shores, Fla. The ladies finished 3-2 in singles play and 1-1 in doubles action.
Violet Apisah,
Vanja Vidanovic, and
Yvette Schmucker all had strong days in singles play as the trio picked up all three wins against Barry opponents. Apisah picked up a win over former Seahawk Daniela Farfan (BU), 5-7, 6-1, 10-6. Vidanovic and Schmucker both won in straight sets over their Buccaneer opponents. Vidanovic defeated Nathalia Gasparin 6-3, 6-1 while Schmucker took down Xiyao Wang, 7-6(5), 6-3.

Head Coach
Daniel Finn said, "Decent performance today by the ladies. Honestly, I wasn't pleased with our doubles performance today, we came out flat and didn't play up to our standard. The girls did a much better job in singles. A bit of up-and-down play with some questionable decision-making, but happy with Violet, Yvette, and Vanja getting some good wins today against Barry. That said we will look ahead to some more good matchups tomorrow"
