No. 1 Women's Soccer Grinds Out Win Over Thomas, 2-1

It took two second-half goals for No. 1 women's soccer to earn a come-from-behind win on Thursday in Thomasville, Ga. Oline Sundgot scored the game-tying goal before Maja Henriksson hit the winner in the 79th minute.

How it Happened
  • Maja Lundman had the first true chance for Keiser, firing a shot in the ninth minute that forced a save from the Night Hawks keeper.
  • The Seahawks' defense would hold strong through the first half, blocking two shots from the Thomas forwards.
  • Keiser would put two more shots on goal but the Night Hawks keeper would fight off both attempts as the teams would go to the half tied, 0-0.
  • Thomas would strike first in the contest just 29 seconds into the second period to make it 0-1.
  • Ramona Kannady would follow three minutes later with another shot that was parried away by the keeper.
  • In the 71st minute, Oline Sundgot played a 1-2 pass with Seira Uko before tying the game with a shot past the keeper to make it 1-1.
  • Just two minutes later Viki Adam would have her best chance in front of net, but it was Emily Lamoreaux making another save to keep the game tied.
  • In the 78th minute, Maja Henriksson fired a corner into the box that the keeper would be unable to handle as the ball went in to give the Seahawks a 2-1 advantage.
  • Keiser would control the pace of the game from there as constant balls played forward would keep the Night Hawks from moving forward.
  • Time would run out on Thomas as the Seahawks would remain undefeated at the sound of the final whistle.

Game Notes
  • Keiser improved to 13-0-1 on the year with the win over Thomas.
  • Today marked the latest opening goal for the Seahawks this season and just the second time they were held scoreless in the first half.
  • Henriksson's goal was the third of the season for the defender and was the 101st point of her career.
  • Sundgot's tying goal was the eighth of the season for the Norwegian as she moved into a tie for third on the team for goals.
  • Uko has also moved up a leaderboard, as her fifth assist of the season moves her into a tie for third on the team.
  • Grace McClellan earned her 32nd win in net, tying her with Elsa Netz for fourth in program history.
  • Keiser outshot their opponents for the 13th time this season by a total of 17-6, 11-2 on goal.
