Violet Apisah claimed the program's first ITA Cup Women's Singles National Championship on Sunday morning in Rome, Georgia.
Apisah managed to defeat her teammate,
Yvette Schmucker to a 6-2, 6-1 win in the final. She becomes the second ITA Cup Singles National Champion for Keiser tennis, following Luke Simkiss in 2020, and joins the 2017 ITA Cup Doubles National Champions doubles team of
Megane Bianco and Daniela Farfan as winners on the women's team.
One of the four champions from the ITA Cup will be selected as a wildcard in the 2022 ITA Fall National Championships. Apisah will now await a decision made by the ITA National Tournament Committee on if she has secured the ITA Cup wildcard spot.

Head Coach
Daniel Finn said, "Very proud today. Violet put on a show this week in singles, not dropping a single set the whole way. It was clear she was the best player in the tournament and she showed why. Very proud of her and how she represents herself and our program. Then you have Yvette's run. Proud is an understatement there too. Today Violet was just too good, but that shouldn't take anything away from the great tournament she had. At the moment we have the best 2 players in the nation. The ceiling for this women's team is definitely high and I believe special things are on the horizon for this team led by these ladies."
