The Keiser women's basketball team got back in the win column with an 81-78 (2OT) victory at St. Thomas on Saturday.
Shykim Gillion scored a career-high 21 points while
Angela Denis notched her fifth double-double (14 pts., 14 reb.) in the road victory.
Trailing by two, 70-68, with five second left in regulation, junior
Shykim Gillion drove the lane and tied the game with a made two-pointer, sending the contest to overtime. The Seahawks never trailed in the extra frames en route to the team's 16th victory of the 2021-22 season.
Keiser 18, St. Thomas 11
- Chiara De Virgilio scored the Seahawk's first bucket with a triple at the 8:02 mark to give KU a 3-2 lead.
- De Virgilio hit her second 3-pointer of the quarter, giving KU a 10-6 edge with 5:51 remaining in the first.
- Andressa Nascimento extended the Seahawk lead to six, 12-6, with a pair of made free throws (5:19).
- Shykim Gillion gave the Seahawks a seven-point lead, 16-9, with a layup at 00:59 on the game clock.
- Taylor Jones hit a jumper at the buzzer to give KU an 18-11 lead after one.

- The Seahawks pushed their lead to 11 with buckets by Taylor Jones and Kaitlyn Fertig, 22-11.
- A 6-0 run by the Bobcats cut the Keiser lead to 24-20 with 5:36 left in the half.
- Elise Ellison-Coons hit two free throws at th 4:56 mark to give KU a 26-20 lead.
- STU used a 7-0 run to regain the lead following a 3-pointer by Mya Moye with 2:13 on the clock, 27-26.
- Brooke Bogatz extended the STU lead to 30-26 with a 3-pointer at the 1:36 mark.
- The Seahawks closed out the half with four straight points to end the half tied with the Bobcats, 30-30.
St. Thomas 45, Keiser 42
- STU made it a 36-32 game following two made free throws by Patricia Martinez-Sanz with 7:12 on the clock.
- A pair of free throws by Fertig tied the game at 36-36 with 5:00 left in the third.
- The Bobcats used a 6-0 run to take a 42-36 lead with 1:41 on the game clock.
- The Seahawks out-scored the Bobcats, 6-3 in the final 1:41 of the quarter to cut STU's lead to 45-42.
Keiser 70, St. Thomas 70
- The Bobcats opened the fourth with a triple by Moya to take a 48-42 lead (9:51).
- The Seahawks went on a 7-0 run to take the lead 49-48 capped off by an Angela Denis jumper at the 7:13 mark.
- STU scored six straight points to take a 55-49 lead with 6:13 remaining in regulation.
- Elliana Schaefer hit back-to-back threes to cap off a 10-run for the Seahawks as Keiser led, 59-55, with 4:44 on the game clock.
- The led exchanged hands a number of the time over the next four minutes before a made free throw by STU's Moye gave the Bobcats as 70-68 lead with nine second left to play.
- Gillion hit a layup with five ticks left on the game clock to tie the contest, 70-70.

- Neither team could muster much offense in the first overtime.
- Gillion hit the Seahawk's lone bucket with 57 second on the clock.
- STU's Kasey Gagan went 2-for-2 from the charity stripe with 24 second left in the period for the Bobcat's only points.

- Angela Denis scored the first two buckets of the second overtime period to give KU a 76-72 lead with 3:40 on the clock.
- Samaria August pulled STU to within two, 76-74, with a fastbreak layup at the 3:01 mark.
- KU extended its lead to five, 79-74, with three points from the free-throw line.
- Denis had a key block of a Chrystal Pressley layup with 1:05 left to play, forcing an STU foul and a trip to the line for Gillion.
